Patong/Phuket weather in mid May

Featured Replies

Hi,

I am planning a trip to Thailand in mid May. Wondering if the chance of good weather with sun and not too much rain and windy conditions.

Is Patong a good bet? Or is it more likely to find better weather in Pattaya?

Its weather, you roll the dice and you take your chances. How do tell if a weatherman is lying? His lips are moving! TIT. It the tropics.

Weather is all over the place this year- take it as you find it.

The wind has already shifted from the east to the northwest, which usually marks the start of the wet season. But this year as Psimbo said the weather is not usual. Also in Phuket it can be raining in one place but not another, micro climates. This site is from a local guy that posts on this site occasionally. I find it helpful, but there in no way to tell what's going to happen in a few weeks from now, not alone a day from now.

Rawai can have completely different weather than the airport, and Patong can have different weather than Phuket town any month of the year

Usually the weather is good in may with a few thunderstorms most days on some parts of the island

They normally last less than i hour and then it clears and the sunshine returns

just buy a plastic rain cape, its never cold in Phuket even when its raining
