Penang Tourist Visa Latest Info?

I will arrive in Malaysia soon and hope to get a tourist visa at the Thai consulate. What are the latest requirements? I have 4 previous single entries from Laos all more than one year ago. Onward flight ticket needed? Anything else?

Did it a bit over a month ago, needed a copy of accommodation (in my case a copy of my lease) and a copy of a flight out along with the usual form, photo and payment.
