When is a hot sandwich not a hot sandwich?

Featured Replies

When you buy it from 7-11,

They apparently don't sell hot sandwiches so don't expect the carbonara or sausage and cheese to be hot.

Apparently us customers don't want it hot and at the required temperature to kill all bacteria, we want it at between 41-45 degrees on the fillings!!

During my early years of bakery life it was 67 degrees for reheated food now WHO recommends 75 degrees now but 7-11 offers 41-45, how can bacteria be killed at such a low level I asked them, they don't have bacteria in chilled food!!!!!

I pointed out about hotdogs needing to be thoroughly reheated due to nitrates in them and if not piping hot there is a chance of miscarriage in pregnancy, not a worry I was told.

I spoke to a manager over the phone and he just blamed cold (which is meant to be hot) sandwiches on store staff not on product development!¡!!

He asked me if I could speak Thai, I told him no then he starts speaking Thai, I said are you <deleted> stupid and then the following phone conversations continued.

This is how CPall obviously respect to foreigners who complain.

Acually, Restaurant Standards in Europe require a 65 degree Celsius serving temperature of meals. Tests show a failure rate of 50%.

In Thailand? Besides of 7/11 frozen food, a broken refrigeration chain is almost inevitable. But all the street food vendors, serving chicken wings that have been laying on the same grill for the last 3 days? No bacteria could possibly survive such harsh treatment.

So, Tourists suffering from "upset stomach" blame it on the water and start brushing their teeth with Coca Cola.
Cheers.

If you have to rely on 711 for food you are your own problem. They don't serve anything worthwhile.

Spoil sport ! I used to buy beer, toothpase, razors and an occasional  pack of condoms there. With no adverse effects or quality complaints.

Cheers.

I find the condoms to be a bit chewy for my taste but quite filling.

They are just a place to put your beer. This is why they give a straw.

As long as you were able to eat beer and condoms. The rest of their shit is not worth eating.

Add a little Ketchup and you will be amazed that even grasshoppers freshly imported from the Isaan, can be quite tasty.

Ketchup over condoms: Frankly, I have not tried yet. But I am tempted, especially since the "french cuisine" is on the way out.

Cheers.

Ketchup, crickets and a condom? Sounds like a trendy place for young lovers.

Have any of you guys ever had an employee talk to you and look down on you if you can't speak Thai?

Intention of heating or reheating such foodstuffs is not to kill bacteria. The product should have been manufactured and packaged sanitary, that is food safe and bacteria free.

But bacteria grows when it's refrigerated, it's impossible to get food bacteria free during transportation, fridge temperature etc.

I noticed in BigC extra yesterday they were selling pies by an Northern English local pie maker that had a sell by date of more than two months, stored in an open chiller, not even a refrigerator. Not for me thank you

Under 4C ambient temp bacteria growth almost stops. At 0C it does stop. Nothing except irradiated or pasteurized food is bacteria free. But typical low levels of bacteria found in most foods is normal. Bacteria surrounds all of us and is everywhere. Do a test on anyone's hands and bacteria will be readily found. Often bacteria gets into food from one's hands when eating!

Any thoughts on the food at 711?

I actually do like a foot long with cheese

I love a ham and cheese toasted sandwich not the the other one though it's like a sandwich but a pastry.

I enjoy some of the Thai pork balls too you know the spicy ones and if we're on the rd and really hungry then the Japanese teriyaki chIcken hits the spot but the other brand of foods with its own freezer; ezygo? They do a decent pork penang. Decent quick food when your on the go and if you don't like your food warm you can always say Aoweeg khap maach lon khap and get it reheated to your preference.

Well at least your Thai could be kind of understood at 711. Important if you eat there all the time. Aoweeg khap? 555
