Unfortunately I am going to have to close this thread after the current question has been answered ????

  • Kanu (Champions League with Ajax , Premier League and FA Cup with Arsenal,  UEFA Cup with Inter,  FA Cup again and relegation with Portsmouth)

Correct with Chamberlain.

Gemmill? Hoots mon!!

That is the 2 easy ones. A clue for the last one: the son won a League Cup winners medal in the 70s.

Yes. Oh my giddy aunt!

In the finest traditions of this thread I have horlicksed the question. There are 4, not 3, father and sons. ?. I hang my head in shame.

Can anyone name a Football player who has played for England and his Father never did play for England

Is that similar to 'who won the FA Cup and never scored a goal'?

Bit late again bareback but yes you are correct.

These team efforts confuse matters with whose turn it is but I like a team effort keeps it interesting.

I note champers got his facts wrong but it appears he is only human after all.

Ok happy Friday anyway so here is a question let's dig deep only a few days to go before the footy begins.

Who Am I?

I have played for

Coventry city

Monaco

Rangers - twice

QPR

Stints in the USA

And banged in 9 goals in just 30 odd apps for england. Who am I?

George Eastham ( Snr & Jr) were the first father and son to play for England.

Indeed the dodgy mullet mark don't hate me. Please stick one up.

This septuagenarian played for 3 English teams and scored more than 20 goals for the national team.

44 in 56, truly AMAZING goals to games, next to romario, to this day  at his peak, greavesy was THE best goalscorer i've ever seen IMO still to this day  no one gets even close.

Nat Lofthouse had a better record with 30 from 33. I never saw him play but he is a legend in Bolton. I saw Greavesie (TV footage) and he was outstanding.

Technically Greaves meets the criteria of the question because he only played for 3 teams BUT signed for Brentford as well.

Not the one I was thinking about so..... more than 20 goals but less than 40..,,,

Martin Chivers?

No.... he played for 4 clubs.

Much more famous...... in the "legend" bracket.
