Scones

Featured Replies

There is a cafe on Soi 5 in Jomtien that advertises clotted cream teas on local radio. It is called Chuan Chim. From Immigration Office turn left towards the beach and it on the RHS. I mean to give it a try myself one day.

There's a proper Harrods tea shop in Siam Square that does scones, though it's a bit far from here. I was there the other day and they were doing a roaring trade with well-off Thais.

Scones are very easy to make at home if you have an oven as no proofing is required and the less mixing you do the better. I always make my own both savoury and sweet. Takes under 30 minutes from start to finish and costs very little.

Oh, and you can do your own clotted cream too: http://www.cupcakeproject.com/2009/09/clotted-cream-recipe-making-clotted.html

Thanks for the replies.  Unfortunately, I don't have an oven anymore

There is a Turkish equivalent to clotted cream...Unfortunately I can't remember the name. I'll check the web address for that.
