Need advice on writing a will in Thailand

Featured Replies

hi everybody
I am a comrade in this blessed place on earth I am 46 early retired for medical reason "politically incorrect"   bought a condo off my savings  and I have a remote key controlled black motorbike.  I am thinking of writing my will in case I die anytime but I want to be buried in Thailand, I still have 7 brothers back home and a bank I own money I can't fully pay back but since the loan given to me was insured I don't need to worry about that.   So should I have a power of attorney to my brothers back home or just trust locals which I would rather do but not before I hear some other thoughts. love you

You need a separate will for each country where you have assets, one in Thailand and from what you wrote, one back home also - they can be linked and can reference each other but they must be separate.

It costs about 5k baht to have a lawyer in Thailand prepare your will, it's a sound and inexpensive investment - if in Chiang Mai I can point you at a lawyer to do this, others can likely help with other parts of the country.
