Oh yes certainly one can get ripped off here & lose all but nothing like the above & still have to pay maintanance set by the women Lib & having to justify to them that you dont earn that much anymore

So why would i run back for free medical when i have been paying more through taxes then i would for the top cover of a private policy

To explain what the free medical is for all you who aren't from Auss 

* Only at government facilities (which you may have to wait half a day for something basic)

* Waiting lists for OP's as long as your arm

* Good for wife & kids or any one that doesn't work - because it's free to an extent

* I pay 3.5 % above gross income tax or 2 % if I am willing to be forced to have a set minimum of private cover 

* I still have to pay 50 % of Doc's visit

Don't dump your wife because she's old. Remember, she's the one who gave her virginity to you, carried your kids, and made you meals and made sure that you had everything you need?

 

If you absolutely need a younger model and can't hold it, get a mia noi... but remember that your wife is #1 and should always be.

 

I think marriages would last longer if family courts would enforce 50/50 custody w/o child support by default, unless there are aggravating circumstances or a parent is a drug addict.

My only guess is because Western society in general is more civilized and there are laws put in place, so people don't get treated like dirt.

Do you actually believe that? Most people in the west get treated like dirt, they are just so indoctrinated by the nanny state that they don't realise it.

 

Perhaps the question should be why are women so easily prepared to marry bad men? Happens all the time in the west, and Thai women are no different.

If I wanted that, I'd have stayed at home, where marriage is basically a gift to the woman and the man gets screwed over. Can't even just live with them anymore, as that is now same as being married.

 

I will never understand why western men that already have children back home are so easily persuaded to provide the new Thai wife with a hook to keep the money coming, even if they are a terrible wife.

Nanny state is nothing about money ( except the extortionate taxes they force one to pay to support the horde of bureaucrats necessary to enforce it ).

It's about trying to remove all risk from life by threatening punishment if one transgresses, and forcing all the "subjects' to kowtow to the state in all things.

Doesn't work, of course.
