It's Pence who should be worried.  Doesn't the old saying go something like "The rear admiral's vice is the vice president's rear"?

They're very different but he's very bad in his own way. It seems now he was picked not only to get the hard right Christian base but also as impeachment, etc. insurance. But the truth is most republicans would prefer Pence to trump anyway.

How low can he go?

Always lower.

"After a shocking presidential election in 2016, we saw in 2017, that political gravity was still real, and that far from upending the game, President Trump has been constrained by it, limping through his first year with little to show but the lowest hanging fruit in the orchard of conservative policy. Now, in 2018, the major question isn’t will Trump fall but how low can he go and what will he take down with him?"

Posting this mainly for the COMMENTS section.

Why?

In case there is anyone left (presumably all Americans know by now) that the trump presidency is anything approaching normal.

Go to bottom of link and click COMMENTS and then just soak it in.

Trump is nakedly fragile

...

Caesar showed mercy because he had it to give, because he was powerful enough to dispense it. He didn’t need to be stingily protective of his own dignity or wealth, and to be so would have made him seem weaker than he knew he was. Trump, for as much as he styles himself a figure of abundance and luxury, with the guts to take on the strongest in society, is derelict where it comes to justice, and the most nakedly fragile where it comes to mercy.

A day ago, here and elsewhere, Bannon was a disheveled purple faced bloated drunk. Who knows, other than following the wind in your direction. Regardless, I did think, he had a very good and varied resume and a very smart man. Great schools, a military officer, then a partner, not a easy task, at Goldman's. And, an entrepreneur, not matter your thoughts, without Bannon, Trump would be Presidently- Homeless.

That second link is a truly terrifying read, but none of it surprised me as it all fits in with everything we know. The problem is that most Trump supporters cannot read past the first paragraph, so will never ever know the truth. I made the mistake of reading this before bedtime- mistake - nightmares!!

Home Depot just showed who will gain the most from corporate tax cuts

With unemployment low and demand for new homes high, a company like Home Depot could be spending most of its surplus billions on raises for workers or the rollout of new stores.

Instead, the world’s largest home improvement chain this week announced that it is using $15 billion to buy back shares of its own stock, a move that will reward shareholders including chief executive Craig Menear and other top

Washington's growing obsession: The 25th Amendment

Lawmakers concerned about Trump's mental health invited a Yale psychiatry professor to brief them in December.

Lawmakers concerned about President Donald Trump’s mental state summoned Yale University psychiatry professor Dr. Bandy X. Lee to Capitol Hill last month for two days of briefings about his recent behavior.

In private meetings with more than a dozen members of Congress held on Dec. 5 and 6, Lee briefed lawmakers — all Democrats except for one Republican senator, whom Lee declined to identify. Her professional warning to Capitol Hill: “He’s going to unravel, and we are seeing the signs.”

According to this source "The medical records may provide some clarity, but no law demands their disclosure or that they are complete. The release of health records is not the same as releasing tax returns — which Trump hasn't done — in which raw data are provided to the public to analyze. The president must consent to which details are released and with whom".

Wrong! You have concluded this from an article that says no such thing. It just says Trump does not have to disclose anything he does not want to.

The 25th Amendment means that certain people within the Government/Administration can declare Trump unfit and providing the correct support is there it is a done deal. Just like the Executive Officer, along with support of others can declare a Captain of a ship unfit and take command, so can Pence do the same with Trump. Trump would then get the chance to prove them wrong and then if he cannot do that, he is an ex President. No laws need changing and no medical results are required. The initial invoking of the 25th can be entirely subjective.

Who knew I'd ever feel for the far right Trump supporter?!

Steve Bannon now created more cognitive dissonance for them to last until the end of their lives ... or a N.Korea/US war (whichever comes first).

Just my opinion here, I think Bannon is setting up the son as a fall guy, to take the rap for The Orange One.  If the old man dies it will all shift, and all blame will be put on the corpse.

Obstruction Inquiry Shows Trump’s Struggle to Keep Grip on Russia Investigation

WASHINGTON — President Trump gave firm instructions in March to the White House’s top lawyer: stop the attorney general, Jeff Sessions, from recusing himself in the Justice Department’s investigation into whether Mr. Trump’s associates had helped a Russian campaign to disrupt the 2016 election.

"For Trump's human deplorables, it is neither reason nor a desire for good governance and stewardship that guides their political decision-making, but rather spite and contrariness. For them, any criticism of Trump by "outsiders" (captured by the empty, catch-all phrase "political correctness") is more reason to rally behind the great leader. This is the logic of a cult. .When Trump sends out his missives on Twitter, liberals and progressives retreat to the fainting couch in shock. Trump's base instead hears the trumpets of battle. In a contest between the two camps it is clear enough who will win."

I don't agree with the part of the quote, above, which opines, "When Trump sends out his missives on Twitter, liberals and progressives retreat to the fainting couch in shock."

Liberals and progressives are no more spooked by Trump's idiotic tweets than they are spooked when they see poop coming out of a dog's butthole.

The difference between liberals and Trump supporters, is liberals have known what a dangerous dufus Trump is.  Some of us realized it years/decades ago, whereas others have realized it months/weeks ago.

As for Trump supporters: some of them know he's a dumb-ass, but they stay with him because he's their dumb-ass.  They like how he's chummy with white supremacists, how he may start a nuclear was to show how tough he is, and how he's tough on the environment in favor of big oil and coal/mining corporations.

Impeachment should happen but it doesn't because of the complicit ones in the republican party.

Pretty much all of them.

History will judge them harshly.

But no need to wait for history to smell the sleaze of that party.

"It's Been an Open Secret All Along

The scandal of Michael Wolff’s new book isn’t its salacious details—it’s that everyone in Washington has known its key themes, and refused to act.

"They know. They could do something: hearings, investigations, demands for financial or health documents, subpoenas. Even the tool they used against the 42nd president, for failings one percent as grave as those of the 45th: impeachment."
