Rights groups are under close watch for bias

Human rights groups were warned on Thursday by the Interior Ministry that they are being closely watched for alleged bias towards the opposition CNRP, The Phnom Penh Post Online reported on Friday.

 

Interior Ministry spokesman Khieu Sopheak confirmed that several organizations, including Licadho, Adhoc and the election watchdog Comfrel – were under observation and the government launch a formal investigation.

 

Sopheak said Comfrel’s 2013 report which questioned the indelivbility of the ink used to thumbprint election ballots, showed the organization was part of the opposition.
