When you think in the 70's, 80's and into the 90's the IRA had few dozen terror cells in Britain and then compare that with the sheer numbers of Muslims communities in the UK , then almost certainly there are many cells of radical Islamists, who are being harboured and defended within these communities.

Sadiq Khan just spoke on CNN. London  "safest global city". He is completely out of his depth.

The police response was breaththtaking by the way , if only the politicians would take the gloves off the security forces these thugs could be contained.

Meanwhile you can't enjoy a night out without being run over or stabbed with 12 inch knives by men committing murder in the name of religion.

I just saw him as well and I though he was pretty weak. He didn't inspire any confidence in me.

My British friends.

If your country could survive the V-1 fling bombs and the V-2 attacks in 1939 and 1940, a few "terrorists"  won't stop you  now.

Just remember, as the T shirt from that time sad, "Keep Calm and Carry On".

Your parents grandparents did it, and so can you.

I myself was in Vietnam or 5 years, and I survive the TET offensive in Saigon and one attack on the communications site I served at.

I remember shining a flashlight (Torch to you) to see that I was  standing in a pool of about 3 cm of blood from a wounded friend at that time.

Don't let your fear defeat you, that's what terrorists want,

Been there, and got the T-shirt as the saying goes.

The difference to WW2 is that during WW2, while people were being bombed, they knew that thousands of their guys were killing the people sending the bombs and that they would win in the end. Now there is no apparent action being taken against the 5th column and all they get are speeches, with no end to it in sight. We certainly aren't "winning" this one either.

Respect Sir!

Wise words from someone who has been in the middle of a war zone.

Whilst any amount of training could not prepare anyone adequately for the circumstances of blood and guts around you as you experienced unfortunately civilians don't have that training. What us Brits do have is more than a bit resolve and encouraging words like yours will help enormously.

Thank you.

The thing I'm getting PO about is how every time the citizens are killed and injured by those the politicians have allowed into a country, the very same politicians stick their face in a tv camera and spout exactly the same old tired mantra about how terrible it is and how they sympathise with the families and the wounded and their "thoughts" are with the people, and they will make us safe.

They can stick their sympathy where the sun don't shine, and DO SOMETHING about it.

It is a war, against terrorists, and it's time for the Brits to cancel the election, form a coalition government and get off their PC butts and do something that will actually make a difference.

Otherwise the same timewasters will be making the same pathetic speeches again and again and again.

Trouble is, there aren't any Churchills out there now one is needed.

Whilst I agree with the overall sentiment (politician sticking their face in front of a tv camera to express sympathy/thoughts etc.) - I'm not convinced that cancelling the election and forming a coalition government will help at all.

Politicians from all parties have done this as a matter of course for decades - and its unlikely to change in the reasonably near future.

It's even worse!

I just heard that UK tax $'s are used to fund Muslim schools where hatred for Western Civilization is taught! How stupid is that?

The only way to end this is to use the time tested Mafia tactic.  Kill our families and you lose yours.

I'll take that as a 'yes'....

Not sure where to start:-

1) Killing innocent people in support of a cause?  Reminds me of the terrorist attacks.

2) "First they came for" x - etc. etc.

Have to admit though that I know nothing about mafia tactics - other than I find them appalling (edit - despite the wonderful Godfather movies:laugh:)  and certainly wouldn't want them pursued by everyone.

The OP made the statement that the majority of Muslim countries banned Christianity - patent nonsense spurned either by ignorance or the desire to foster hatred in those who are malleable to such insidious untruths.

That's a problem there ain't many of that type of people that lived in the UK at that time left,  the UK is becoming very divided and over-run IMO.

The so called integration has never worked as l have seen it,  remember me dad saying England is going to the dogs over 50 years ago, didn't really understand that at the time.

Hats off to the Met etc for abruptly ending this in just 8 mins. It's a pity our courts weren't so quick with the likes of Hook, who's legal aid bill was second only to the witch hunt surrounding Bloody Sunday...

Cheaper just to ban any from one of 6 countries.

The problem is not just about muslims entering any western country . Many of the crimes are being committed by 2nd or 3rd generations who are  official citizens of their families adopted country . We keep hearing the word  " Radicalised " and although I am not qualified to quote the Koran I hear that this book contains articles to the extreme  advising muslims how to lead their lives . The majority of muslims are insular with no intention to integrate . They practice their own customs and then criticise western ways of life . They know the social security systems and use accordingly . Now exceed 5% of the UK population and their numbers doubled within a decade . They are told to have as many children as possible and state that they will run the UK within 15 years . Last year alone there were 500,000 migrants to the UK . Not sustainable so why do the governments allow this ?

The same government refused my Thai lady a tourist visa , makes me angry . Something has got to hit the fan soon .

Cancelling the election?

These cowardly scum are against democracy in all forms & cancelling would show they've won!, preventing random premative attacks is near on impossible unless they were on the surveillance radar and even then the security services have to ensure they're timing is right.

The sympathy element is simply part of the process, no different to the 'Prevent' terror programme, I assure you I detest the PC culture that's gripped the UK in its current form however the country will not under no circumstances allow it to change its way of life, our lifestyles and it's democratic system.

The Mafia tactics are actually pretty simple.

If you plan to kill our families, kill your own first, because if you don't, we will. It will be messy without an ounce of dignity.

In short, you threaten extinction. Your family line ... ends! Something terrorists fear more than dying.

You cannot punish a suicide bomber, but if he knows his "abandoned family" will be killed, this changes the game.

Suspected militants plough van into London crowd, stab revellers, kill six

By Paul Sandle and David Milliken

LONDON (Reuters) - Suspected militants drove a van into pedestrians at high speed on London Bridge on Saturday night before stabbing revellers on nearby streets, killing at least six people and wounding close to 50.

Armed police rushed to the scene and shot dead the three male attackers in the Borough Market area near the bridge, as authorities urged Londoners on Twitter to "run, hide, tell" if they were caught up in the violence.

The attacks came just five days ahead of a national parliamentary election on Thursday. The ruling Conservative Party suspended national campaigning on Sunday, a spokesman for Prime Minister Theresa May said.

"Following updates from police and security officials, I can confirm that the terrible incident in London is being treated as a potential act of terrorism," May said in a statement as events unfolded.

The killings also occurred less than two weeks after a suicide bomber killed 22 people at a pop concert by U.S. singer Ariana Grande in Manchester in northern England.

There was no immediate claim of responsibility.

"Sadly, six people have died in addition to the three attackers shot by police," Mark Rowley, Britain's top anti-terrorism officer, said. The three attackers had been wearing what looked like explosive vests that were later found to have been hoaxes.

The BBC showed a photograph of two possible attackers shot by police, one of whom had canisters strapped to his body. Hours after the attack the area remained sealed off and patrolled by armed police and counter-terrorism officers.

The London Ambulance Service said 48 people had been taken to five hospitals across the city and a number of others had been treated at the scene for minor injuries.

Streets around London Bridge and Borough Market, an area that is a major transport hub and is packed with bars and restaurants, was busy with people on a night out.

London Mayor Sadiq Khan spoke of a "cowardly attack on innocent Londoners and visitors to our city enjoying their Saturday night".

"STAB WOUND"

Witnesses described a white van careering into pedestrians on the bridge.

"It looked like he was aiming for groups of people. I froze because I didn't know what to do," Mark Roberts, 53, a management consultant, told Reuters. He saw at least six people on the ground after the van veered on and off the pavement.

"It was horrendous," he said.

A taxi driver told the BBC that three men got out of the van with long knives and "went randomly along Borough High Street stabbing people."

Witnesses described people running into a bar to seek shelter.

"People started running and screaming, and the van crashes into the railing behind. We went towards Borough Market and everyone went inside (the bar). Everyone in the bar started pushing people from the exits," one witness, who gave his name as Brian, 32, told Reuters.

Another witness, who declined to be named, his white top covered in blood, described a scene of panic in the bar.

"They hit the emergency alarm. There was a line of people going down to the emergency exit. And then people started screaming coming back up," the 31-year-old said.

"Around the corner there was a guy with a stab wound on his neck ... There was a doctor in the pub and she helped him. They put pressure on the stab wound."

BBC radio said witnesses saw people throwing tables and chairs at the attackers to protect themselves.

The BBC showed dozens of people being escorted to safety through a police cordon with their hands on their heads.

TRUMP, MACRON EXPRESS SOLIDARITY

Islamic State, losing territory in Syria and Iraq to an advance backed by a U.S-led coalition, sent out a call on instant messaging service Telegram early on Saturday urging its followers to launch attacks with trucks, knives and guns against "Crusaders" during the Muslim holy month of Ramadan.

Similar attacks, in Berlin, Nice, Brussels and Paris, have been carried out by Islamist militants over the past two years.

May was due to chair a meeting of the Cobra security committee later on Sunday.

U.S. President Donald Trump took to Twitter to offer U.S. help to Britain. The White House said he had been briefed on the incidents by his national security team.

French president Emmanuel Macron said on Twitter that "France is standing more than ever side by side with the UK".

The incident bore similarities to a March attack on Westminster Bridge, west of London Bridge, in which a man killed five people after driving into a crowd of pedestrians before stabbing a police officer in the grounds of parliament.

Several witnesses also reported hearing gunshots around London Bridge.

"We were in an Uber (taxi) going towards London Bridge and suddenly we saw people running. The Uber stopped, we asked people what was going on – people said there was shooting," said Yoann Belmere, 40, a French banker living in London.

"Now the area is completely closed with police cars going one way and ambulances going the other," he told Reuters.

The Manchester bombing on May 22 was the deadliest attack in Britain since July 2005, when four British Muslim suicide bombers killed 52 people in coordinated attacks on London's transport network.

Nice try at diversion but my point remains.  The intolerance of this sick religion is simply demonstrated in that they will ban Christianity but the converse is not true.

You, on the other hand, contributed zero and are just trolling, at this point.

The fact that London has an unashamedly Islamic mayor pushing pro-Islamic policies with a coincidental rise in terrorism may have consequences for his re-election? If not then the Anglo-Saxon heritage is going to become extinct.
