webfact
PM asks Thais to mutually set national objectives BANGKOK, 5 June 2017 (NNT) – The Prime Minister has asked Thai people to unite and agree on the national objective towards prosperity, urging all sides to uphold public benefits. Prime Minister Gen Prayut Chan-o-cha has made remarks calling for the general public to have a mutual Sense of Purpose for national development and urges people from all groups to set the objectives for an inclusive national development plan. The PM is inspired by the graduation remarks from Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg and wishes all Thais to implement the idea behind it in order to drive the nation forward for greater things in the future, and to help pursue national reform for a better political system, economy, society, and quality of life. The government is opening itself to public opinion, and urges the general public to find their inner strengths and improve themselves, such as the improvement from farmers to smart farmers, SMEs to smart SMEs, the improvement of businesses to increase the value of product and services, as well as the improvement of skills among workers. The PM suggests that Thailand's development will also support its neighbours' mutual growth and provide better connectivity that will strengthen the region as a whole. The premier asked all Thais to find their sense of purpose and to put public benefits before their own. -- nnt 2017-06-

Given that most are struggling on a daily basis, that will probably not be achievable.

This is anathema to most Thais at all levels of society, where looking after number one is top priority and the family a close second. Probably applies to most politicians as well! ezzra
There's was one a great king in this land who recently passed away who dispensed immensely valuable advices to his people and shared his pearls of wisdoms with his subjects, alas, who wanted to listen did, the majority didn't, so I don't see how the people will listen now when they didn't listen before..... Hypocrisy. If Prayut is so inspired by Zuckerberg, he should read some of Zuckerberg's 2015 recommended books: Why Nations Fail and The End of Power. stephen tracy
When will he every shut up?! He never tires of spouting drivel, even when he says he's going to stop talking for a while. It's like listening to a child with severe learning disabilities.
