Public prosecutors have decided not to indict ex-Mae Hong Song Governor Suebsak Iamwichan who had previously been cleared by police of accusations that he bought sexual services from a minor involved in the province's forced prostitution ring.

Pol Col Satasak Pimolthip, superintendent of the Muang Mae Hong Son police station, said on Friday that police investigators – as well as the committee overseeing the investigation into the scandal – had sent their opinion, that Suebsak was deemed not to be involved in the alleged wrongdoing, to the Provincial Police Region 5 chief.

The report was passed on to prosecutors who agreed on Friday not to indict Suebsak, he said.

Satasak said he had been transferred to be superintendent at a precinct in Lamphun from tomorrow  as part of the usual police shuffle, because he had served in Mae Hong Son for more than three years. He said he would still be part of the committee overseeing the scandal investigation.

All of the suspects in 37 cases related to the scandal had been released on bail while investigators interviewed witnesses and gathered evidence before the cases are passed on to prosecutors for indictment, he added.

Of course he didn't partake and was conveniently transferred...via normal procedure. That is, a procedure that looks like a cover up.

even more shocking  ( pitiful) is no one   comments on the   "forced prostitution"    claim, as it is taken as  normal.

A case of mistaken identity. Governor Suebsak Iamwichan is totally innocent.

Someone (read fall guy) was at the big party and allegedly big noted himself in front of the underage girlies and claimed he was Governor Suebsak Iamwichan.

A convenient story if ever there was one.

It is normal. Lower class eg. Hill tribes or lao girls or bpama (all ethnics) are here to serve and pleasure the supreme thai. It's been like that for ages. Why will it never stop: money/poverty ❤

On the other hand maybe he DIDN'T do it- but that would not allow Thaigeezer frothing though, would it?

He has been cleared of buying sexual services, that does not mean he didnt partake in sex, only that he didnt pay.

Look out Lamphum  lock up your Kids here I come :stoner:

oh wow...i am sooooo shocked!

:coffee1:

actually...I am!

You can't make this stuff up!   Reason?  If you did, no-one would believe you!    "Amazing Thailand" where the truth is always stranger than fiction.

The policeman who was investigating the case against the governor is the one who has been transferred to Lamphun, not the governor.

"Evening all, I'm your friendly Thai-bashing policeman".

Bit slow off the mark there constable, sleeping on duty again?

Was any other outcome expected?

For sure not, watching all the efforts, from day one, to keep him out of it...

You are all cruel, he's just a dedicated Thai Government Official doing his best to remain on the investigating committee and by being on the committee he will be able to ensure that no "innocent" officials suffer!! :wai:
