Rimmer Posted June 10, 2017 Posted June 10, 2017 DASTA tackles hotels’ water waste PATTAYA:--The Designated Areas for Sustainable Tourism Administration tackled improper disposal of wastewater by hotels into rivers and streams at a seminar in Pattaya. Sompong Hiranmatsuwaan of Rangsit University’s Department of Environmental Engineering was the lead speaker at the June 1 meeting at the Long Beach Garden Resort of about 80 area hotel executives. Sompong said it was important for hotels and resorts to be aware of the importance of taking responsibility, having standards and taking measures to protect and promote the awareness of our surrounding environment. “The simplest things can make a huge impact, such as installing water saving taps, reducing the amount of excessive quantity of water used to clean utilities and various areas, regular checks for water leaks, using dishwashers efficiently when full, and reusing the wasted water by using it to water plants, for example,” he said.
