I have a CTH dish from their long defunct service which I believe was on KU band.  I have seen in Big C a satellite TV box which says it is suitable for C band or KU band.  The guy in Big C told me it would pick up Thai TV without the dish needing to be realigned.  Can anyone tell me if that is correct before I invest the princely sum of 700 baht on this box and end up with another door stop? All I am interested in receiving are the Thai fee to air digital TV programmes.

Thanks

CTH was originally on Vinasat 2 at 131.8°E

When they did their partnership/merger with GMM they simulcast or moved to Thaicom 5.

The free-to-air Thai language programs are on Thaicom 5/6/8 at 78.5°E

But I'm sure someone can do a small position tweak to your dish to point it at Thaicom if it isn't already there.
