Wutthipong Kachathamkhun or "Ko Tee"

AUTHORITIES in Laos have cooperated with the Thai government to block Internet-radio broadcasts by fugitive militant red-shirt Wutthipong Kachathamkhun, the head of the National Security Council said on Friday.

Gen Thaweep Netniyom, the NSC secretary general, said the Laotian government had good ties with Thailand so it heeded requests from Bangkok, which resulted in the end of broadcasts by Wutthipong, alias “Ko Tee”.

Wutthipong has reportedly used YouTube and Facebook channels to communicate with red-shirt supporters – urging them to carry out violent disturbances in Thailand.

He said the government told Vientiane that acts by Wutthipong and his group in Laos had upset Thai people.

So, the government sought cooperation from the Laotian regime to block all channels of communication by the fugitive leader and the request had been heeded, Thaweep said.

Human Rights

Is it a human right to call for armed resistance ? So we get red supporters do things like.. ehhh.. bombing a hospital ? Or should the something like this not be allowed. Is the freedom of speech limitless ? I have seen Iman's in my country get convicted for the call to kill gays.

Notice how the "democracy fighters" get support from out TVF friends while they are shrouded in the fog of obscurity, but when they emerge into a hard focus and they are exposed as violent thug criminals, that support disappears with the fog.

Take for example k.Bandit. One day he's an unknown red hero, fighting the injustice of a coup 4 years before. When it emerges he was paid to fire RPGs into hotels, temples and tank farms, he suddenly becomes part of an "extremist violent minority".

What's the problem here?

If you find out those that you are supporting turn out to be crooks - you withdraw your support.

It is however an entirely different matter to discover that those you are supporting are crooks but continue to support them.

For instance...

Let's put aside the silliness of his demand for 'democracy' by means of overthrowing a democratically-elected government for a moment and consider the following public facts about Mr. Suthep:

-When he was Agriculture Minister in 1995, he sold and gave away to his wealthy friends Land Reform plots in Phuket meant for needy local people. This scandal brought down the entire government he represented. He escaped prosecution because of his political connections, bribery, and...wait for it...paying protesters to march in the streets of Bangkok. The only democratically-elected Democrat in dozens of years, Chuan Leekpai, lost power because of Suthep's corruption.

-In 2009 when he was on the National Police Commission, he openly accepted large bribes for police postings and shot down the posting of more deserving officers who refused to pay him, including nominees from his own party's Prime Minister. The same year, he was investigated by the Election Commission for illegally owning equity in media companies with government contracts, in violation of the Constitution. He avoided prosecution by resigning from Parliament, but kept his post of Deputy Prime Minister.

-Later in 2011 when he was National Palm Oil Policy Committee Chairman, he helped orchestrate a phony shortage of the commodity to force up prices more than 50%. He and his family made a fortune from the increase in price, as they are major players in the palm oil industry and huge landowners. He also pocketed kickbacks from other major producers in the South.

-He went on trial for 92 counts of murder for ordering police and military to use deadly force on Red Shirt protestors in 2010 (not to mention the thousands hurt). He was indicted by the Office of the Attorney General, which is a non-political independent branch of the Ministry of Justice.

-Additionally, Wikileaks diplomatic cables from the US embassy revealed that many members of his own party have long complained of his corrupt and unethical behavior such as auctioning off cabinet postings both within the Democratic Party and former coalition partners.
