BANGKOK: -- Prime Minister General Prayut Chan-o-cha put forward the country's 10 strategies for future growth at a forum of global fund managers on Thursday.

In his opening remarks at "Thailand' s Big Strategic Move", Prayut said Thailand is aiming to develop competitiveness through innovation that will transform into future industries.

He referred to a "Pracharat -State of the People" mechanism, which is a tool for moving Thailand forward and said the government is seeking cooperation with all sectors of society.

He invited foreign investors to get involved in the Eastern Economic Corridor which would strengthen economic integration among Asean and South Asia.

Prayut did not say when the junta will transfer power to an elected government.

"The political power transfer will happen when it does , it will take place as soon as possible, don't worry," he said.

Fund managers from 20 global investment funds with combined assets under management worth US$7.66 trillion, are attending a one-day forum, according to the Stock Exchange of Thailand.

Let's not pretend that global investment funds protect the world's moral and ethical values. They want a return on investments and the bigger the better. They get uneasy about governments that could sieze and nationalise their assets without being accountable to anyone other than themselves. When democracy does return we can begin a fresh countdown to the next time there is military intervention. Will it be benevolant or brutal in nature?

If the government could demonstrate a willingness to invest more of their own money instead of splurging on subs and tanks, they would have a better chance of getting overseas investors to part with their money.

The fund management equivalent of the world's top used car salesmen and women in one room together on one day. Remind me of the Global Financial Crisis again please.

So this is where he is getting the start-up funds from.

These guys have no soul. Carsales people have a better standing in the community.

Where is Halloween. He wasn't sure that the Government were going to borrow monies for their projects.

A lot of banks won't deal with an unelected official with Military backing and a get out of jail clause article 44.

So in steps the worlds Fund Managers with equity funding. Sounds like a south American country in the 1970's? They went bellie up with good oil.

Another rice scheme on the horizon.

"...the society of justice..."  :post-4641-1156693976: Bulls hit.

Where murderers (aka Red Bull heir) are not promptly arrested and someone who feeds fish is immediately jailed? That is justice (in a two tier system)? :whistling:

Notably the words "democracy" and "democratic" do not appear anywhere.

The People will belong to the State instead of the State belonging to the People. It's been eighty-five years since the military's revolution - and nothing has changed for the Thai people.
