UK based online food outlets

Featured Replies

Hi There

I was  recently checking out a few  online sites selling UK   food items   (dry foods ,tinned foods)

However  most sited don't mention import taxes or state that you should check this out yourself before placing order

Has  anyone used any of these companies   and if so what would be the percentage of import  tax  on arrival in Thailand ,is shipping costs liable to tax as well ??

is there a website to calculate import taxes??

Any relevant info appreciated   Thanks

What are you looking for that you cannot get from Rimping, Big C or Kasim?

Since you are asking about import taxes etc into Thailand why make your post in the CM Forum and not a more appropriate Forum such as "general" or "home country".  You will have a wider audience.

Hope that helps.

I think you need a special license to import food, drinks, even vitamins. I had some multi-vitamins the by Thai customs fit but having a import license. It was only a couple of bottles

When I imported the law was that only one importer per particular product was allowed. In theory if you order something that already has an official importer it won't get past customs. In reality, who knows?

Depends what's in the customs declaration I put "personal items, vitamins" and it was rejected.

For UK, HP Sauce, Colemans Mustard, anything by Fry and Bentos etc.

USA, Twinkies, Gatorade etc.

Called comfort food accessories and brings nostalgia.

Analogy, don't be pedantic :-)

Ok, I might walk across the street for Colemans Mustard but will leave nostalgic comfort food to those who live in the past.

I like Jaffa Cakes and would walk a mile.

Nostagia reigns

M&S ready meals & sandwiches, crumbly cheese. And all the low sugar versions of most things you can't get here.

I know Sausage King often buys UK Food imports from a UK Food importer on eastern seaboard.

He gets foods I like but cannot find in Thai Supermarkets or Kasem.

The only things I ask my daughter to bring on her yearly visit are,

John West canned Kippers,(there were some Princess available in

RimPing, but sold out, probably never to be seen again.)HP fruity sauce,

Belgian pate,Cheese, and a Kg of dried Pigs blood to make Black Pudding.

that was it,some things you yearn for might not be what you remembered,

few years ago asked for some Cox's orange pippin,Conference pears, and

they tasted nothing like i remember from my youth, memories shattered.

regards worgeordie

I know SK makes his Black Pud out of blood supplied by CP Foods.

His Home made HP style sauce is top notch perhaps a little on the fruity side.

Agreed. Need to kick the wife's arse as she's not been out to SK to stock up on black pudding for a while now.
