Good Opticians in Pattaya - Advice please

Featured Replies

Hello I am new to the forum and apologies if this topic has been covered previously.

If any of the members could recommend a reliable optician, preferably in the central Pattaya area, this would be of great assistance to me.

I am staying in Pattaya for a short break at the beginning of July and am in desperate need for new perscription specs.

If anyone has any info or a direction to a previous thread on the same subject I would very much appreciate the assist.

Thank you in advance guys.

Strongly recommend. Filipina doctor with modern equipment. She will gladly devote as much time for your consultation as you want.

Doctor? Is she an actual optometrist/ophthalmologist or an optician?

Probably not and doesn't claim to be.

Good service there.

Good service at First Optic as well.

Make your choice and be done with it.

Me2. I get my lenses remade there every couple of years using a prescription obtained in the UK.

My UK optician (Boots) does a very complete test for GBP10.

Price comes into this too, pound for pound First Optic wins hands down. probably HOYA lens will be fitted First Optic were at least 40% cheaper than next nearest rival, (survey some time ago.)  All you can do, choose frame, choose lens  (thin ones) spend 50 baht on taxi bike, visit both, get price on the two, ,...First Optic will virtually be 'buy one, get one free' comparing shop to shop, quality to quality

So maybe she is. I don't know and I don't care. She's good.

But others care. So be done with your silly advice.

The request for good opticians is a regular feature on this forum and every recent thread comes up with First Optic and Euro Optic. Both are good.

You queried her qualifications as stated by a member which was subsequently confirmed as being the qualification displayed on their FB page.

I have used her services twice, never had to question her qualifications or professionalism and never had an issue.

What is your problem?

Do you even wear bloody glasses?

A poster stated that she was a Doctor - that's pretty uncommon in a shop selling glasses. I asked a question about it and it was answered. I never had a problem with any of it, only your suggestions regarding what I should or shouldn't do.

Understand?

Good well that's sorted then
