Husband, pregnant killed in road crash in Prachin Buri
By The Nation

PRACHIN BURI: --  A heavily pregnant woman and her husband were killed on Monday night when their pickup truck crashed into a roadside tree following heavy rain.

Police said the accident happened at about 8.30pm on Prachin Buri-Ban Sang Road in Moo 1 village in tambon Bang Pluang in Prachin Buri’s Bam Sang district.

The couple were stuck inside the truck and had to be freed using an iron cutter.

Police said Somsak Muangsri, 32, died behind his wheel. His wife, who was seven months pregnant, died at Chao Phraya Apai Pubhet Hospital.

Local residents said they saw the pickup overtaking a car at a curve in the road before it spun and crashed into the tree.

Condolences to the couple. Pickup drivers should know their vehicle doesn't handle like a sedan especially during raining season.

RIP. When will Thais learn to slow down in the rain and that pickup trucks have high center of gravity?
