Ah yes remember well.....first went to Pattaya in 1967 before there was anything....only one hotel, The Nipa Lodge, and one restaurant on the beach at the north end that also rented out rooms!  

Was there in '65.  It was quite different with nothing!

I didn't make it to Pattaya but visited Kho Samui in '79..  no resorts.. just huts along Chowang and palm trees.. beautiful... clear water and great snorkeling..  "those were the days my friend.. I thought they would never end...."... lol
