Pattaya "The World Class Resort where no one can spell!"

Since when has Pattaya been a " world class resort " ?

Just after the TAT lady postponed the International Marathon.

To be fair, and to put it into context, she was referring to 'quality Chinese and Russians' that were on their way to the world class resort; as she spoke. So to speak.

Today Thais can just use Google translate if they wonder about the spelling of an English word. Maybe the signs been up for 20 years ++

Trouble with that is they are likely to end with some horrible Americanese littered with excess Zs

They get uppity about all the wrong things. Inability to spell in a foreign language is widespread in non English speaking countries, and incorrect spelling doesn't bother foreign tourists at all -  it's actually considered quirky, a reminder of being on holiday.

If however the shaming is to indict the pitiful education system here, full steam ahead.

Mis-spelt roadsigns should hardly go unnoticed in Pattaya, you certainly get enough time to see them.
