Gynecological Surgery at Sriphat Chiang Mai

Featured Replies

Hi there,

This is a shout out to all the women (and husbands / partners of women) who have had gynecological surgery at Sriphat Medical Centre in Chiang Mai.

I am planning to have laparoscopic uterus removal for fibroids (laparoscopic hysterectomy) with Dr. Chailert Phongnarisorn at Sriphat Chiang Mai, who is CMU's head of Urogynecology and Pelvic Reconstructive Surgery. He's an amazing doctor face to face, very knowledgeable and enjoys explaining everything, with an impressive CV with foreign training and experience in multiple countries. But, I can't find any online reviews of his skills.

As this is a major surgery and I'm feeling nervous, I'm trying to find anyone who's had surgery done by him to tell me about their experience. Even if your gynecological surgery was done by another surgeon at Sriphat, I'd still be interested to hear what your experience was of this hospital and their general level of care.

I'd be grateful for anyone who had gynecological procedures done at Sriphat with this or another doctor to let me know what they thought.

Thanks in advance!

P.S. If you had this surgery done at another Chiang Mai hospital and felt really happy with the results, please let me know! Doesn't hurt to get a 2nd opinion.

Many TV members have had surgery at Sripat,. It  and its associated public channel (CMU Hospital) are  definitely the best facilities in CM. So no worries on that score.

Dr. Chailert looks very well qualified and has published in a number of peer reviewed journals, which is a very good sign.

Can't give an first or second hand info, though, but if it were me, from what I have seen of his credentials and papers he has written/co-authored, together with what you report of his interpersonal manner, I would feel comfortable to have surgery with him.

Thank you @Sheryl, that's my feeling also. A friend who teaches at CMU talked to a bunch of med students and they are all in awe of him, but that's only based on his lectures.

It would give me that extra bit of confidence if I could hear a positive opinion from an actual patient :)

Hoping someone here will know something. Thanks!

Hi Tipp Topp, I only just saw your question. Sorry you had to wait! I had the surgery and I am very happy. I will pm you the details a little later today.
