The major backers of "populist" trump
I've mentioned it a few times in other threads. The word democracy is practically meaningless. Maybe oligarchy or plutocracy is more accurate. But that doesn't mean every decision they make is BAD for everyone. It doesn't mean they always only think about themselves and don't care about the lower classes at all. Also, they need people to be working and productive in order to maintain their billionaire status. But it doesn't mean you will agree with everything they're doing. And they don't care what you think. He who has the gold makes the rules. -

Just what is life like in Rural Thailand- ever wondered ?
Not a whole lot of difference from living in USA, except no job to go to, two days a week. And a lot more 'one night' stands, or friends w/bennies. Only in relationships/married about 10 of 25 years in USA. Lots of dating, clubbing, alcohol & ganga, along with some hobbles. In relationship/married 20 or 24 yrs here / TH. Not so much alcohol & ganga, actually no alcohol of late. Same 'one nigh stands' (non P4P) as USA when single in TH, but less time doing, being single. Single life, easy & fun in both location, USA & TH. A lot more driving O&A in TH, as USA, too large, and I'd fly everywhere, for O&A every couple weeks or month, and just rent a car when there. Not much difference in retirement TBH, 2 less days of being at a job, A lot less chemical abuse on the body in TH. A lot more physical outdoor activities in USA, since weather much better, and cleaner, clearer, fish filled seas to dive in, and clean rivers to play on & in. Heat & pollution in TH, the only negatives. Taxes only negative in USA, unless needing healthcare. Aside from those few things, nothing different in retirement. Oh yea, raised a kid here. No kids of my own in USA, Did date 1 gal that had 2 kids, and that was a fun (short) learning experience. Only difference I see in TH, for retirees, more options for introverts to enjoy a sex life, though could get expensive, All depends on how well retirement was planned financially. Seems many, didn't plan to well. -

The Trump cabinet Thread
Gabbard as head of intelligence oh, my God. Trump really doesn't care about any qualifications besides loyalty. I wonder what the intelligence agencies think of this (since they labeled her a Russian agent). -

US Social Security
Just to clarify a few things: If a person receives Title II Social Security Disability (those are benefits based on a person's work record), that person can continue to receive those benefits if living outside the USA, so long as the benefits are not being sent to a country on a small list of countries to which the Treasury will not remit money. If the residence abroad continues for more than six months, then the benefits can usually be continued with the filing of some additional paperwork. -

Leftist media in shambles
On the contrary, the next 4 years will give a huge boost to the liberal media, just as Fox News prospered during the Biden years.
