Man arrested, 4 million meth pills seized in Bangkok

By The Nation

BANGKOK: -- A man was arrested in Bangkok late on Monday night and police seized 4.2 million methamphetamine pills, 40 kilogrammes of ketamine and 26 kilogrammes of crystal meth.

Pol Maj-Gen Wutthipong Phetkamnerd, commander of the Narcotics Suppression Bureau’s Division 3, said Thirapat Suanyaem, 28, was arrested while allegedly delivering 5,000 bottles of liquid ketamine and 12 bars of heroin hidden inside a Toyota Fortuner SUV.

Police later led Thirapat to his rented house in the Perfect Place housing estate on Soi Ramkhamhaeng 174, in Bangkok’s Min Buri district at about 11.30pm, and police found the rest of the drugs.

Wutthipong said police planned the arrest following the arrest of several drug suspects, who alleged they got drugs from Thirapat.

Wutthipong alleged Thirapat has been renting the house for nine months for Bt25,000 a month to store drugs he had received from sources in the North.

Meth pill busts are always in several millions. Looks like most of the citizens are addicts.

Should have needed a couple of Fortuners for that lot, roomy vehicles good advert, might look at one

There have been a *lot* of drug-busts recently, where *very large* quantities of drugs are discovered.

 - I wonder if these busts are having *any* effect on the street-prices (which would be a good indicator of the efficacy of the operations).
