Pickup falls into hole caused by floods in Phang Nga

By The Nation

A pickup truck fell into a big hole caused by flash flooding in Phang Nga on Saturday morning, but no one was injured.

Sayan Kijmano, chief of the Phang Nga Disaster Prevention and Mitigation Office, said the accident happened early in the morning on Ao Wek road in Ban Thung La-ong village in Tambon Bang Wan in Khura Buri district.

He said the flash floods washed off part of the road, leaving a two-metre-wide gap and the driver of the pickup could not stop in time before plunging into it.

He said the driver was not injured and the vehicle has been salvaged.

But they should to topped by a stretch of reinforced concrete road, and not just the usually hardcore topped with asphalt.

bet that both woke him up and he will have recurring memories

This would be a good time to widen part of this hole and install a colvert, but

they will likely not do this as it would make too much sense.

Geezer

He said the driver was not injured and the vehicle has been salvaged.

Correct......The rear half has now been welded to the front half of another vehicle that was rear ended, and is now happily crabbing down a soi near you overloaded with bananas.......
