Update on "old" Rolling Live 2 location

Featured Replies

It was mentioned here before and quite a few TVers used to enjoy the live music and "ambience" of Rolling Live 2 - Walking Street and corner of Soi 16.

It had been closed for redevelopment but must have reopened recently/last few months but I have not been by. I happened to be at that end last night so went in. The best description I could come up with is an upmarket Stones House - the bar at the start of Walking Street owned by the same guy. So nothing like what it was before........

Big high angled ceilings, much more spacious feel then the Stones House and consequently not quite as loud - but the sound seemed to ratchet up as it got to midnight. Big colourful screen  for the music videos when the dj was on and music more current then its predecessor. Only heard first track from the Thai band and again was not a "farang" song.

Service staff dressed in a version of Thai lederhosen.........(sorry that was the only description I could think of) and no ladies to keep you company - same as Stones House. Prices - dearer - all bottled beers (small) 150 baht. Stones House 140 baht for comparison.

Now all enclosed apart from the entrance being open, but a foreign couple smoking inside at a table. Toilets apparently very good - which is possibly the only improvement for me over the old place............

Seems like Rolling Live in Soi 8 now is the closest to what this place was if that is what you liked.

I think it is called Soi 16 but not sure........
