Man 69, found drowned under his own house in Pathum Thani

A 69-year-old man who disappeared from his house on Wednesday night was found drowned in the canal under his own house in Pathum Thani on Thursday morning, police said.

The body of Prasert Ngern-ngarm was found floating face-down on the Bang Pho Canal at 9am. His house is built on the bank of the canal with part hanging over the waterway.

His wife, Sompong Kaewmanee, 78, told police that her husband had not been seen since Wednesday night. At first, she thought he went to a funeral at a nearby temple. When he did not return home by 11pm she said she and her daughter looked for him but failed to find him.

Police said there was no trace of an assault.
