Does anyone know % for importing automotive parts

 

Need a new shock absorber - price 96k baht ( yes - u heard that right ) - found supplier in china for $330

 

Just want to know import duty - even if 100% - still worth it

Do you mind telling us which one you need? Some of these parts can be sourced in Thailand. 

If you send by normal mail it's usually below 20% tax/customs fee.

If you use DHL/FEDEX/UPS etc expect  up to 50%.

But Customs decide what they think it's worth. Ones had to pay almost 500% tax on a used fuel tank.

Have purchased many parts for my mk6 golf GTI and had them shipped in from the USA by USPS and never paid never more than 30% duty. Usually go to customs and can just offer to ‘not need a receipt’ and then bargain with the price down to about 10-15%.
