Student Loan Reason For Denial?

My girlfriend has a student loan and studies at one of the local universities. Would the U.S. embassy interpret this as a reason to reject her VISA application? Maybe they think she is leaving the country to avoid loan payments. Or, would the U.S. Embassy think the opposite, they view the loan as a reason to return to Thailand because the loan must be paid off?
