I thought i had it all covered, but another seed of doubt has been sown in my mind by another website. it says that i must go to the immigration office with 2 photos and passport and obtain a residency certificate, before i get married in Bangkok.

i will be in Thailand on a 30 day tourist visa at the time of my marriage so what do you guys think ?I need one or not ? thanks again !!

Ged,

You don't require a residency certificate. Have a read of the British embassy's guide on how to go about marrying in Thailand.

Scouse.

yes <i must have read that guide 50 times, but you know how it is ,just trying to cover all the angles .

thanks again Scouse ! heres a link to the website if you are interested , it actually reads like it is the embassy or an "official website"

If you are this spun about it, I would highly recomend you hire an agency that will take care of everything. All you will nedd to do is get letter from embassy and show up a Amphur office when the agent tells you to (actually they will take you there).

In your case, it sounds like money (maybe 6K) well spent.

Thanks for your input, if you can tell me where i can get this service for 6K i might consider it.the best price i have been quoted is 9-10K!

10K goes along way in northern Thailand where my gf is from , it more than pays for her daughter to go to a decent school for one year!
