She is a loved and adored by millions. She would win an election held today in a landslide. When the day arrives, her homecoming welcoming will be enormous.

Amazing, another new poster, joined the Wednesday PM saying exactly the same as all those other new similar posters!!

So do you think she was innocent of negligence as charged? If so please explain your rationale.

No one has ever faced these nonsense charges before.

I have absolute faith that the history books will proclaim her completely innocent.

In the not too distant future, Thailand will be a democracy- too bad for you I guess.

Oak, is that you?

You have no idea what I have done, or capable of.

Just like you haven't apparently bothered to read the forum rules.

This thread is about the billionaire disgraced ex PM who has apparently ran from justice.

How can there be justice from an undemocratic military government? Next you'll claim there can be justice in North Korea!

I certainly do not understand the workings of Thai politics but I cannot see how allowing her to flee could ever be seen as a smart move by the Junta. Surely there is a lot of face to be lost by being seen as completely inept, letting YL slip like this, especially when its been done before. Also Thailand face lost, for all their strict immigration and border control, she could leave?

If she has fled without their help, smart move highlighting the above incomptency. If she's had their help I'm sure she'll make it known in good time. Can't see how they can come up looking good in this.  Unless of course the pressure was too much and she's dead at her own hands?

Her doing a runner is a convenient solution all round.  She doesn't end up in jail thereby causing considerable unrest in the Country, but at the same time is clearly out of the equation as a future MP.  Wonder if someone in power may have recommended this convenient solution?

It's not hard

Have her and all the other suspects under house arrest and a ankle bracelet

No where to run

But if you got money you get the honey and have a lot of  opportunities to run off

And all we will here is sorry

As usual same same

what is the point of an ankle bracelet if it's the government that helps you run

I wouldn't say brave, everybody has mud on their faces in the cesspit  known as Thai politics. She was not more guilty than most but neither was she innocent. Her brother was so popular and had the chance to do good for Thailand, he could have gone down as a Thai saint but greed pulled him into the swamp and whether due to his influence or choice she joined him up to her arm pits.

Im in my early 30's - I'll live long enough to see the true history of the last decade of Thai politics written. Yingluck is going to come out of it just fine.

If Yingluck was Catholic  the Pope would make her a saint for supporting the abused and  underprivileged Thai people against the evil Junta and their backers. In fact once the Junta and the PM are despatched it would be appropriate to have a public holiday in honour of the Shinawatras who dared stand up to the corrupt Thai regimes.

It is true that Taksin was the first who actually thought of the poor, a savvy politician who worked out the numbers but sadly he was just as corrupt as the rest.

Whichever way I don't see how PM and cronies can look good?

They needn't look good, it is sufficient that they don't look bad. Jailing her would have been a PR disaster, a verdict of innocent would have been just as bad and made the junta laughable, now they need do nothing except lament with crocodile tears that she fled a Thai court who was trying to administer justce

able to arrest her quickly

in facebook you can see her having crossed the Cambodian Border already to say Good Bye to Thailand. Her son is with her. Could it be that the junta reached their goal to eradicate the Shinawatras and are they involved to let her go,?  if......face book do not give fake news.

If she does do a runner its either an egg on the face of the junta or they deliberately let her go. Like you said she was watched a lot.

So, will they really arrest her?? If she escaped, they either let her go, or they would show how extremely incompetent they are! Can they really risk that?

There are rumours that Yingluck left home on Wednesday night in the vehicle of a high-up government official. She was driven to border Thai-Cambodian near Koh Chang (Trat to Hat Lek border crossing) . Yingluck was then escorted by her body guards to Phnom Penh International Airport. Where a private jet was waiting for her. She flew to Singapore and met up with her brother Thaksin. They are then rumoured to board his private Lear jet to Dubai. So Yingluck and Thaksin would have arrived yesterday afternoon in Dubai. I guess that today they are sorting out all her paperwork for Citizenship, etc. Her immediate family must have traveled out the country also, but maybe not together.

Does or can  immigration confirm this, she must have filled out the compulsory departure card like the unwashed have to do - - but then I realised who we are talking about and the "don't you know who I am?"  card would have been used and accepted.

If, as someone said, she was taken to the Cambodian boarder in a government limousine I don't think she would need the departure card, maybe it was filled out by a civil servant for her.

Prime Minister Prayuth Chan-ocha, who led the 2014 coup against Yingluck's government in the name of ending political turmoil, has promised that an election will be held next year.

Yes , same same every year ...
