I'm fat, but I have just ordered some Ozempig (sic) to slim me down. I've heard that in a week I'll be able to run, jump, swim and fish like ladies using sanitary products. Lucky me.

British man dies after bathroom fall at Chon Buri residence
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
Perhaps a combination of slippery tiles and non tempered glass. We were very careful all over the house to use non slip tiles but forgot about the glass. We are installing tempered glass as we renovate. -
Not at Korat.....three business days.

https://www.independent.co.uk/news/world/middle-east/gaza-starvation-food-beans-israel-b2523989.html#comments-area An uncomfortable article from the Independent. Poor Israel. It has gotten harder and harder to accuse anyone of barbarism with photos like this detailing their atrocities being printed in large circulation media outlets. Alongside this war crime worthy indictment, the western media is now full of the barbarity of the Russia for supposedly double tapping (ie sending two flocks of drones separately by a few minutes; using tear gas on Ukraine troops etc). All the accusations are evidence free of course, as all western accusations seem to be. Anyway, I hope this poor starved little girl or chap survives to become the poster child for Israeli barbarism and atrocity.

How do they enforce TM30 submissions?
retarius replied to Nayet's topic in Thai Visas, Residency, and Work Permits
I have given up with any sort of government or institutional websites. They never ever work for me. I thought I was doing something wrong, but it is the idiot coders who actually can't make a simple decent website. This is nepotism in action....all the employees in a given department seem to be family of the head of department. The one that irks me most is translations. Couldn't the departments that put out notices to foreigners, hire someone that actually speaks English, so we don't have to contend with the gibberish that all translations here contain. -

My working life was spent flying around the world in Business or First Class. When I retired I was faced with the dilemma of a six fold price difference between economy class and business class (there was no Premium economy in theorise dark days.) I started using Premium Economy on BA, ANA and some other airlines. To be honest I was disappointed. I have for the past few years (as I have gotten older and want comfort when I travel) moved to pay for Business Class when I fly. When I add up the main benefits of Business Class for me they are flat bed where I can actually sleep, Fast Lanes, and lounges. Food, I don't care about and I don't drink either. Downsides of flying Business Class? Flying with the sort of person I was when I worked...an entitled, sound mouthed as$hole. Spend the extra cash. YOLO.

I never understood people using foreign debit cards here in Thailand.....or anywhere else. Banks need reining in with their damned fees. I'd recommend a guillotine and lampposts for bankers.

Verrucas, thanks for the memory. I haven't heard of them for decades. If I were you, I'd avoid hi-tech initially (it will cost you much more). But some OTC Wart-Gone (?spelling) which uses skin freezing or a salicylic acid based therapy or similar and try that first. Mine responded to silver nitrate decades back and haven't been heard from since. But I don't think silver nitrate is OTC.

I haven't lived in the UK since 1985, so I'm no expert on what they allowed to do. I didn't think an airline would be able to charge you for selecting a seat or checking a piece of luggage. Effectively credit card companies want to tax every purchase you make through their fees. I can almost guarantee you that their fees will increase when there are an oligopoly of huge US companies donating the market, and if something like adding fees is against the law, they will ensure that the law is changed.

There is huge danger in abandoning cash for cards produced by private firms or by government. You will soon be held to ransom by huge fees and or taxes you don't understand that you will be paying. When you complain you will be told, "you have no rights, we are not a bank, we can add fees in any way we see fit, and if you complain again we'll cut off your credit, so shut yer gob!!!!" Yes it would be nice to have the choice of cash or credit so if the credit card company screws you, you can always use cash. VISA/MC have had a campaign for years in the US and other large markets, trying to persuade businesses not to accept cash, and only to accept cards (you can clearly see where that is heading). And governments are only too eager to help, they benefit from reduced tax fraud. I was told years ago at school that any sum owed can be settled in cash because cash is always legal tender....in some places it is not! Caveat emptor.

Unlike other countries, you really NEED to shop around here in LOS!
retarius replied to CanadaSam's topic in General Topics
There is so little price competition here in Thailand it seems to me that it is worthless shopping around. Lazada may seem cheap but I am always concerned that their goods are not legitimate so I have stopped shopping there. I try to buy Japanese wherever I can, failing that, Korean. -
Rock Bands That Should Have Been Bigger?

Yes I think they should have been way bigger. The OP is easy to understand but has lamentable taste in music. -
Counterfeit 1,000-baht notes found in central and east provinces
retarius replied to snoop1130's topic in Thailand News
The laws about counterfeit notes are usually bad for the poor schmuck who is left holding the bag with the fake notes. He might face jail time for trying to use them (knowingly or unknowingly) or might just lose the value of the currency. The good thing about Thailand is the low value of the largest note.....1000 baht, hardly worth counterfeiting. -
We have an immersion heater that heats water for the bathrooms, spare bedrooms and kitchen. And use faucets like this. If you but quality they will last years and years in a hard water area if you also use a softener.

Navy Might Get Both Submarine And Frigate Next Fiscal Year: Suthin
retarius replied to webfact's topic in Thailand News
Ooooooh I feel all warm fuzzy and safe inside knowing this. Thank you Mr Srettha for standing ups to those who pointed out what and enormous waste of money this boats are.....but generals and admiral must have their toys mustn't they. What a terrible place Thailand would be if it didn't have the cash to splash on this boondoggle. Next you will be telling me that friends of the directors of an airline were allowed to fly with unlimited luggage for their wives to shop in Japan. No I'll never believe that gifting generals and admirals with conscripts to wash their wives' underpants is a bad idea.
