I wonder if this means I may yet receive both Moderna jabs I pre-paid for. I got a Sinovac I didn't want so I could get an AstraZeneca. When I went to Lanna hospital I was informed that one Moderna is all that I will get because of their policy. I asked about a booster shot because of my age and diabetes. One Moderna is your booster shot I was told. Many countries will not allow travelers to enter with that mix. Give me what I paid for is all I ask.

When I decided to buy land and build a house for us, I knew very well that it was my wife's property. I did it because I wanted her to have it. There was no chance that she would ever have it otherwise. When I met her she was living with two of her aunts and they all had to share a bed. She deserved better, and now she has it, although she does have to put up with me lol.

Marriage with my Canadian wife was over, kids all grown, had never been out of North America. I asked a well traveled friend where to go for 6 months or so. I came in 2005, travelled around the country and loved it. Met a few very friendly young ladies and realized Thailand was a place that I could really enjoy. Married for eleven years now, built a house, swim almost every day, have no plans to go anywhere.

Have you been afraid of Covid-19 in the past 1.5 years?

In other words, a perfect opportunity to learn the Thai language, and no distractions. -
Solar Power for Well
ramrod711 replied to HeijoshinCool's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
I really wish someone would respond to your question. I have 3 pumps in our system, the in ground one to fill the closest tank, an above ground pump to fill the tank at the rear of the property and another one to provide water pressure for the house. Providing the juice for all this with solar would be great. I would like to eliminate the third pump by installing a tower to gravity feed the house but the neighbors are too close, I fear a disaster. -

If I was up all night playing music, I would really hate to be woken early in the morning by loud music, tit for tat. Be aware though, you probably have a higher regard for the law than your Thai neighbor. -
As a youngster did you ever think of the future ?

I was 6 years old in 1958. I remember asking my mother if I would live until the year 2000, which seemed impossibly far away. When she replied with a smile, that I probably would, I asked if she would, she replied I hope so. Sadly, she did not. She passed away at 58 in 1988. -
I have no reason to think you are wrong, but I sure hope you are.

Good answer, I, like you, do not fear death, I fear a long painful process. I think all humans should have the option of requesting a pill. We are much more humane with our pets than we are to each other.

Any difference between KLM, Swiss or Austrian?

Austrian has more vowels. -
I can swim every day. Much more difficult to do in Canada, with the ice and all.

Exactly what I was thinking. When I was a kid I bought a 56 Mercury 2 dr hardtop with a 312 in it. The very first thing I did was put a set of A P glass pack mufflers on it, had to let that Y block rap. -
Perhaps they could save those millions of baht by not using the water cannons to suppress citizens in what is purported to be a democracy.

Being scared to talk to other farang

I was a long haul truck driver for 30 years, been in many truck stops from LA to Baton Rouge, Toronto to Vancouver. I think I have heard every imaginable sob story. Some people I tried to help, some lost my attention at the beginning of their unbelievable, fairy tales of woe. I never refused to speak to anyone, occasionally I wished I had, but not seriously. On the other hand, I have had to ask for help myself on occasion. One example, I was in Compton California, turbo was on the way out and high range not working in my transmission. This was back in the days when few drivers carried credit cards. I found a shop that agreed to repair the truck. Then I had to ask a big favor from a man that didn't know me. I had to pick up a load in Hollywood the next morning and there was no way the money could arrive before I had to make the pickup. I said that he could send a mechanic with me, or hold my tools, whatever he wanted. That good mans name was Bob King, he told me to go make my pickup, get my money because if I was worried about it, he didn't have to. Of course I paid him, and I don't ignore people just because they may have a sad story to tell. -
Sorry, I unknowingly used the "communal" reference that bbko had already used, my bad.
-
I realize that, but there seems to me, to be a communal spirit in everyone being on the floor. It isn't, as you say, the literal height.
-
This also makes sense to me.
-
everyone is the same height when on the floor. That makes the most sense to me.
