  1. probably the slim version - tight fitting............
  2. You know this for a fact? I thought I read on here 12 - 20k, possibly 25k, baht which is not the figures you are quoting but happy to be proved wrong.....
  3. This may be useful to show it is not necessarily easy to do - see especially @Sherylcomments towards the end although you do not say what country you are from - https://aseannow.com/topic/1222568-death-certificate/ Your partner may need written permission from your next of kin which you could set up in advance.
  4. Have you tried talking to a broker to get some ideas to see who may cover for your requirements. Like AA Insure for example as they have a few offices and may be able to recommend more specialist cover? I am not sure anybody offers significant coverage for flooding these days - following 2011 floods. Mine is covered for a maximum of 1,000 baht.......Storm is however covered including Typhoon...... You also may have an exclusion if home is not occupied for 60 days so depends how often you visit the "vacation" home or if you have permanent staff there. As long as high value items are separately and individually noted I would have thought most companies would offer cover (perhaps not for artworks) but at a high premium.
  5. Same. Currently presuming not based on the descriptions but what do I know......
  6. Have you searched for similar topics like this one - https://aseannow.com/topic/1281406-last-will-and-testament/ There is also a pinned topic in the Pattaya forum which has a lot of information......... https://aseannow.com/topic/447336-will-advice/ Use Google or other search engine as the AN search box does not always deliver...........
  7. Really.....you have contact details for Bangkok? My understanding is they have always been a Pattaya based service and even their web site does not mention any Bangkok office............ https://magnacarta.co.th/home/ The will prices you mention seem very reasonable. However another poster mentioned in another thread that they quoted him 130k for probate..........
  8. Unless I missed it and perhaps elsewhere and AseanNow just did not pick it up...... Incident on the 5th. Surprised it made the UK press. https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/article-12380215/British-father-son-beaten-thai-bouncers-Pattaya.html Apparently on Soi Buakhow.
  9. OP according to the link above that I posted from MoneySavingExpert it says this -
  10. To the OP and anybody else who may need it here is a useful link to help with tax codes and potentially reclaiming overpaid tax - https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/family/check-tax-code/ Here is a recent article about HMRC and issues being blamed on understaffing...... https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/smallbusiness/article-12198887/Inside-chaos-tax-office-Whats-gone-wrong-disastrously-understaffed-HMRC.html It mentions the fact that they have closed the PAYE helpline until September which would make it very difficult to get advice if you are having issues with a tax return.
  11. Curious if he has been playing for a "long time"' why not? We had a guy bring his 12 year old some years ago and he played with our group on a couple of full size courses playing off the red tees. To be fair he struggled....... Otherwise @scubascuba3 suggestion above is about the only option. There was talk of another course pre covid somewhere off the 331 from memory which may have been par 3s but cannot really remember.
  12. Quick - depends how busy they are - I have needed to come back early morning a couple of times to get done. Efficient - yes Reasonable prices - YMMV but more recently inquiring about dash cam install I found them a little on the high side....... Replacement hydraulic struts for my boot lid seemed very expensive but I had nothing to compare to at the time and they were changed quickly and efficiently.
  13. Here is a fairly clear explanation from a Thai govt. website with an infographic - https://www.thailand.go.th/issue-focus-detail/009-010 supposedly updated in July 2023.
  14. At the end of the linked article - I think they meant restaurant not web site but whoever owns it seems to have some "connections" and/or very deep pockets.....
  15. Are you advertising....rhetorical question of course but I fail to see what your post has to do with my reply or the Ops question...........?
  16. Are you talking about connecting to your Skype name or do you have a paid for Skype number? If the former just go to settings, Privacy and block anything from people not in you contact list -
  17. It looks like expats are not the only ones to suffer - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/markets/article-12351619/Banks-shut-1-000-accounts-day.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html I am sure there is more to this specific case but it reads like a nightmare for those concerned - https://www.thisismoney.co.uk/money/saving/article-12340459/CRANE-CASE-vulnerable-laws-got-debanked-HSBC.html?ico=mol_desktop_money-newtab&molReferrerUrl=https%3A%2F%2Fwww.dailymail.co.uk%2Fmoney%2Findex.html
  18. Are you sure about that? There was a thread some time ago where someone had done this and when it came to doing their bank letter the withheld amount was taken off their balance....... If you have checked with the bank then hopefully no worries but others need to be aware - sorry cannot remember which bank it was at the time.
  19. OK this is not Kasikorn but on SCB when I have paid for a couple of items online with my debit card I used SCB DEBIT which is what it says and it went through each time........
  20. There was a whole thread on where people buy and how they cook their steaks not that long ago. Plenty of ideas in there if you want to search for it.......... Why people have to turn threads into pissing contests is beyond me..........
  21. Doubt it. If you already have a chronic illness I would have thought it highly unlikely anyone would cover you for it if you changed cover. I had my eyes "done" just before I changed to an April International policy and the one exclusion I have is anything to do with cataracts
  22. Wim is still there but according to what I was told what Sheryl said above is correct.
  23. My feelings exactly
  24. I don't disagree with anything you say which is why, along with other reasons, I have no interest in dealing with AA World and or Regency. My research showed they are all part of Alliance Group International - https://www.welcometoalliance.com/alliance-group
