  1. Thank you for persevering trying to post the detailed contact info - I saw it for a second before it was removed...... It is good to have had a rec for that company as some of the early posts in this thread were from someone who works for them...........think a card game........
  2. Not in this thread unless I need glasses again?
  3. So can you post details please?
  4. Which is not receiving an OTP - so that statement you made earlier is definitely incorrect. Balance replies are not OTPs........
  5. I don't understand your response. Posters regularly publish names and phone numbers of A/C suppliers/servicing etc. I have, and others, posted details of a lawyer in Pattaya for notarising documents several times in the past. If you have found what you consider to be a good rec for a legal service than please potentially help many others by posting here. If for some reason forum rules have changed that much I am sure a mod will come along and correct.....( @blackcab ?)
  6. AIS sim last renewed about 3 years ago and even though my phone is rooted I have the same appearing in my list of system apps - not in the app drawer as a regular app. It only has permissions for SMS. Under Apps and Notifications there is a heading for Emergency Alerts with settings to Allow or not and what level of alert to allow plus some other settings - IE different to 007 Red list above who probably has a more recent version of Android. Even though rooted I cannot remove/disable from the app settings.
  7. You make it sound so simple..... In practice for many the tax years and filing dates are completely different with potential fines for late payment. Most importantly not all DTAs are equal so not necessarily the case. Until they clarify how it will work we are all just venting
  8. Wise only works for transfers into Thailand - they are not allowed to transfer out. You could look at Dee Money who transfer out and compare their fees although they have a maximum amount. https://www.deemoney.com/ As a general rule you should get a better rate from your Thai bank to change baht then from a destination foreign bank. Your Thai bank will exchange into $US before sending to the US bank.
  9. It is possible but I would be surprised if that is the case as nobody else has reported it and it would be a major change. From the earlier reply you posted the charging seems to be linked to some sort of "package" - the advanced air time mentioned perhaps. It does suggest that you have not been able to cancel everything or you are inadvertently using something........ PS - are you sure data is switched off 100% for that sim?
  10. Not sure if you are just being argumentative for the sake of it but if you already pay tax elsewhere why would anyone want to pay more? As mentioned in the post above IMHO the concern is because of the total lack of detail as to how this will work so it is difficult for many to know how they will be affected and to what level.
  11. If you look at clause 19 in the actual agreement (in red on the digest under the heading you mention) it states So my reading (which could of course be wrong!) - UK citizen receiving a govt pension can only be taxed in UK even if tax resident in Thailand. However a Thai citizen who for some reason is receiving a UK govt. pension but tax resident in Thailand get's taxed in Thailand..........
  12. How sure are you on that? ( I hope you are right) The reason I ask is that in the Digest of DTAs produced by HMRC it states that Pensions (other than govt/civil service) are specifically excluded from the DTA.............. https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710099/DT_Digest_April_2018.pdf See page 34, Thailand and note 4.
  13. Thanks for the clarification and answer.
  14. Has been mentioned many times but unfortunately SCB don't appear to have implemented for foreigners. As far as I am aware being exempt from the requirements means you accept responsibility for any fraud that ensues........(not sure if that's any or just any over 50k)
  15. Apologies but can you clarify the following please - You then talk about your US state pension being below the Thai limit for taxation but what about when you add the UK state pension? Surely that would bring to an overall level that would be taxed or am I misreading something? Also curious why you decided to declare initially as most foreigners don't appear to?
  16. You may be correct - but then why does the digest of DTA's (published in 2018) specifically state that no relief is available? Note 4 re Thailand DTA - The header column specifically says No relief as well. I hope you are right and if this moves ahead it may come down to an individual Thai revenue officer's interpretation...............
  17. I was referring to someone applying to HMRC to change their domicile from the UK prior to that event.....or did you miss the first part of my post.......
  18. Credit where it is due. The OP already posted this link on the first page of the thread.
  19. Not sure what the relevance is of the quote relative to pensions? Which is why I quoted the digest in the first place as easier to understand.
  20. Thanks that is very useful. Good job all my transfers have been direct to my account here so some degree of separation. Not sure how well HMRC can track all this "gifting" especially after you are dead but would be interested to hear from anyone who has gone through probate where it has come up?
  21. Thanks for highlighting that as I was also not aware. Do you have a specific link you can share at all?
  22. About the only way you can avoid it, without possibly getting into complicated trusts, is to try and become non domiciled which from my readings is also very hit and miss. There have been one or two threads on here but not sure anyone has actually come back to say they have definitively achieved it. I for one would be interested to hear of any solutions you come up with.
  23. Whatever the relative increase is the headline "profit" vs revenue seems very high to me And the year hasn't even finished yet - depending on this company's fiscal......... I am guessing also this is gross profit before taking off a myriad of other items..........
  24. Which means what exactly? Unless you are referring to government/civil service pensions the DTA with Thailand specifically excludes other pensions. See this link and scroll to page 34 and within Thailand look at note 4 on the far right..... https://assets.publishing.service.gov.uk/government/uploads/system/uploads/attachment_data/file/710099/DT_Digest_April_2018.pdf
