Can you delete all members inactive accounts?
gamb00ler replied to billd766's topic in Forum Support Desk
That seems totally unnecessary to me. Carrying an inactive user account on the books incurs almost zero cost, no degradation of performance and I can't think why it would weaken security in any way. What is the gain? -
I need to soon close out my Can. RRSP and like everyone I hate paying taxes that I can avoid through optimal tax filing. It seems if I file using Section 217 the Canada Revenue Agency will evaluate both my regular tax filing and my Section 217 filing. Then they will use the filing method that costs me the least in taxes. Seems too good to be true. Anyone done their taxes under Section 217 and saved money?

I just finished setting up my UltraMobile PayGo online account and enabling WiFi calling/texting. I also set my password to a more secure sequence. I logged out and back in to check. Everything was fine so I logged out and then I went on to send a test SMS from my GV account to my new UM #. That worked fine. I went to login to UM again but I was rejected with this message: We're sorry Whoops! Something went wrong and we weren't able to fix it ourselves. Please try to log in again. Now UltraMobile won't let me log in unless I use a VPN connection to a US access point. Even with the VPN running, I still have to accept a 2FA code from them to login. Anyone else experience new security measure from UM?

you're right, thanks. For a novice like me, it's easy to miss a crucial detail.

What is the brand of your inverter? I have a AlphaEss Smile T10-HV-INV inverter. We are also set to NO EXPORT and have a digital meter. However the software provided by Alpha ESS still shows a small amount of feed-in AKA export. It amounts to about 2-4 KwH a month. Coincidentally, our bill shows two meter readings each with a separate usage. One of the usage figures closely matches what the AlphaESS software shows as our grid consumption and the other is about the same as our feed-in numbers. Since the "extra" amount is so small I haven't bothered to yet go to PEA and get an explanation. I have concluded that the extra reading is in fact a record of our export.

In 2013 my stepson (born in USA but dual Thai citizen) married a Thai and applied to take his bride to USA. He had lived in Thailand for about 25 years. His mother and I wrote a letter saying we would support the new wife as needed. The son and daughter in law did the application for her visa without any lawyer or agent's assistance. It took about 8 months from start to finish. Within 2 weeks of her arrival in USA she had a green card valid for only 2 years. After 3 years she became a US citizen. Since the MAGA epidemic the demand for permanent resident status and US citizenship has sky rocketed, so processing times are longer now. I wish you well and hope you can get the visa quickly!

Thanks, I didn't know that a simple relay is all I really need. My electrical knowledge is basically zero. So would something like this would suffice? https://www.lazada.co.th/products/30a-t9as1d22-12-1240vac-30244-i4702370558.html?spm=a2o4m.searchlist.list.26.4466708adoxnho

I have a Rain Bird irrigation controller to open and close the sprinkler valves using 24v AC solenoids. The irrigation controller can also control the pump using a 24v AC pump control switch that will close/open the 230V circuit and start/stop the pump. My Lazada/AliExpress search skills are inadequate to find me the right kind of switch. Can somebody find one or suggest the best search terms? I'm in CM so maybe a seller at Kham Thiang Garden market may have what I want.

Here's the promised pictures of our acrylic countertops installed. I tried to select the pictured areas to depict the more challenging portions of the installation. I apologize for the less than ideal lighting.

I haven't come across anyone selling Corian, but there are definitely very similar products from competing brands such as LG, Samsung, Caesarstone and a few other brands. We just had 5 bathroom and 5 kitchen (2 houses) countertops made using Hanex, another brand from SKorea. There is also a brand made in Thailand, but I cannot locate their info at the moment. Our installers had a lot of experience and did a good job. They don't use the most up to date tools and methods but the result is still very good. They do very good coved joints between the top and backsplash. Their seams are invisible when joining pieces because they use a color matched glue. They have a sales office in CM but their shop and workers are located in Bangkok. I'll get to posting pictures tomorrow of their work.

5 things you hate most about Thailand
gamb00ler replied to bignok's topic in ASEAN NOW Community Pub
I think Thailand does have many restaurants serving great Western food... the problem is you have to "kiss a lot of frogs" during your search. Having lived in Canada/US most of my life, I would stop looking for better restaurants once I found places that were good enough. In Thailand it often takes longer to find food/service that I classify as good enough. I guess that may be one of my top 5 frustrations with life in Thailand. -

Reliable reverse osmosos supplier and service company in CNX?
gamb00ler replied to jko's topic in Chiang Mai
My friend bought this one from Shopee and is happy. It is a tankless system and the filters and membrane are easily replaced. It requires a power outlet as it has a pump. I will be buying the same model shortly. https://shopee.co.th/เครื่องกรองน้ำPhilips-Water-AUT2015-ดีไซน์หัวก็อกแบบคู่-ระบบกรอง-2-โหมด-สำหรับน้ำบริสุทธิ์และกรองดื่มได้-i.41904241.20443256989?sp_atk=1bae89a9-880d-4a5f-be92-29208be5c193&xptdk=1bae89a9-880d-4a5f-be92-29208be5c193 -
PEA and Solar how low can you go?
gamb00ler replied to MJCM's topic in Alternative/Renewable Energy Forum
We still have the two useage numbers on our bill. I haven't had the time to drag the stepson to PEA to translate the explanation for me. The Alpha ESS system shows almost the same #'s as the PEA bill, grid consumption 137.5 and feed-in back to grid 12.3. Total consumption according to our inverter was 844.9 with 718.1 coming from our approx 11Kw solar installation. -
I think Thai Conch has double glazed windows. https://goo.gl/maps/ewdKxc1qy5tCQLHf7 It's located on the 700 year road just South of the junction with route 1006. She also does shower glass and mirrors.

Capital One 360 Potential Problems?
gamb00ler replied to Ebumbu's topic in Jobs, Economy, Banking, Business, Investments
I have several financial apps for institutions outside of Thailand. They all seem to not bother to check my location when using them. It is likely that the financial institution assumes I'm on vacation or they just don't care. Generally a smartphone's physical location is available to a smartphone app. The "polite" apps ask the user for permission to access, but I hesitate to assume that those apps that don't ask are not grabbing the phones location data anyway.
