  1. Generally the people there are friendly and helpful so I think if you need some assistance the staff at your hotel will be able to arrange things for you like transport or a back-up chair pusher. Most likely at very reasonable costs. Sorry I do not have specifics for Danang, it has been about 15 years since I was last there. You might consider a day trip or even an overnight to Hoi An about an hour or an hour and a half drive from Danang. Have a great trip.
  2. yeh phone app is less than worthless with that ad
  3. so just put them all in jail together, for a long time
  4. Vans are still the worst around here.
  5. Yes, building plans are filed at District Offices for approval before construction. They are at a public office and are public records so are available, remember you only want one sheet for floor plan, not the whole set of plans. If they can't copy just take some photos.
  6. Oh I know, I have been a party to replacing a developer with a JP.
  7. But the law does not say that so why deal in fantasy.
  8. No. Owners can have done it on their own more than a few times in Chiang Mai. Without developer support and in at least several cases with developer resistance.
  9. You will get nowhere with this. Too easy to adjust accounting, put on a different label, put it in a different account .... then he has it covered. Any property owner knows they must put some money aside for accrued maintenance so he can just sock it all into an account with that label, normal practice.
  10. How many people do you think you need to <deleted> off and whop your skull?
  11. Might try to get contractor bids for the labor only then you buy the materials. Good way to insure quality materials. Really not that many things to buy.
  12. So do not mix current year income with savings, have a separate account for each and on January 1 each year transfer all money from the current year income account to the savings account since it is no longer current year income. Of course transfers to Thailand come from the savings account and no Thai taxes.
  13. why not give the poa and chanot to that someone you trust, then agent risk is eliminated
  14. you seem to be the dumbwit by suggesting the above, none of them will pay the fine for you and you got to be on something to think they might.
  15. Dang is the best but she won't you get away with your usual <deleted>, she will call you out fast and strong. That is truly a good helpful attitude, just what you need.
  16. On the wrong-side street coming from Thapae just before the Sikh Temple on the right side is a shop for sewing supplies, they would most likely have the velcro you need. That is about 40 meters before Chiang Moi Road.
  17. Re Entry Permit at immigration is usually not a long wait, not like a visa extension. At airport depends on the availability of immigration officers and the queue, sometimes fast sometimes not and it is when it is not fast that it can become a problem. If it is slow at the Immigration office it is not a problem as long as you brought your book to read.

    septic tanks.

If there is no bad smell and the toilets are working properly, do nothing except be thankful.
  19. Buy your Pounds here. Put them in your pocket. If amount is large, report it going out and coming in. No problem just some paper. Done.
  20. Congratulations Dean, it looks like you got what you wanted, rather a roundabout way to get there but the end result was good.
  21. You are assuming that result. And you missed my suggestion to ask them to stop or wait a minute....I think that real life experience is that hundreds of thousands of anchors have been put into floors and walls in Thailand with hammers without damaging the tile on the surfaces. Oh my so now you modify the story to tell us that he was hammering on the tile, not the insert. Enjoy your evolving drama.
  22. Using the word stupid is definitely not called for and frankly impolite. How about: Please stop or please wait a minute. then I am worried about the tile and proceed to resolve that worry Not really bad work, nothing was damaged or completed in an unsatisfactory way. The problem was all about you and your worry or fear.
  23. Have you tried those white balls they put in urinals to mask the odor? Urinal cakes. They seem to keep the jingjoks out as well as the insects.
