Whatever became of that little Jewish boy who defeated a big Palestinian guy using only a slingshot? That's how long this has been going on. -

Thanks for the post, I did not know Hughes coined that term. Well, its a deduction: according to web searches the poem was written in 1951, the play was published in 1959. -
The traffic cop who takes a few bucks for not writing a speeding ticket will be publicly crucified if caught: disgrace to the uniform, betrayal of public trust, etc. Corrupt big-money deals involving public officials etc, even if reported in the media, most likely will evaporate or be overshadowed, such that the rascals can keep running for public office. Paying off gov't officials used to be called graft, and was a crime. A certain Republican saint in the 1980s got rid of graft by legalizing and calling it political action committees (PACs). IMO the shining moment was in the first decade of this century when a career politician turned armaments executive turned back into a politician and became vice president to a not-very-bright president who preferred clearing brush on his Texas ranch to "presidentin'" The best politicians money can buy, long may it wave! And now with a politicized Supreme Court featuring a few hard-core conservative justices collecting millions in gifts in a bold-faced, obvious way, well, . . .

So is this an example of the deep state and the swamp that a certain presidential candidate can't bring up often enough? Republicans/conservatives do not have to own up or recuse, with a "and what you gonna do about it, b_tch?" I recall seeing Bush Sr on a talk show while the 2000 election results were in contention, and the host said he understood that GW had to recuse himself. "Oh yeah, recusal" said Bush, in a tone that implied he was laughing up his sleeve. Fortunately at this time there is the Lincoln Project that knows how to confront the arrogant ______s.

Stephen Bannon Defiantly Rallies MAGA Supporters as Imprisonment Looms
bendejo replied to Social Media's topic in World News
Someone explained to me that there are certain rich people who put effort into trying to look like they actually work for a living. E.g. he may look like he sleeps in his clothes (and maybe he does) but those cargo pants he wears could cost US$1,500 at some tony outfitters. That thing about wearing several shirts at a time is probably something he learned from reading about hobos. A lesson that some of them should have learned in the 2018 midterm elections is that MAGA doesn't sell without DT. https://www.businessinsider.com/steve-bannon-right-wing-gladiator-school-booted-from-italian-monastery-2021-9?op=1 -

All that bravado, you know the guy is sh_ting green because once they put him in the cage it may be for a longer time than expected. But wait, the guy is a drunkard, maybe he can beg off that it would be cruel and unusual punishment to deprive him of his bottle, he is in need of therapy, etc, so the sob may end up in a nice rich guy's sanatorium instead of the concrete house. If DT, Bannon and Flynn are all in prison during the convention it's going to be pretty dull there, people like Ted Cruz making 4-hour speeches etc. Knife fights backstage in deciding who gets the nomination. https://www.newsweek.com/steve-bannon-fbi-andrew-mccabe-trump-revenge-1910141 -

Steve Bannon's Conviction Upheld: Facing Prison Time

This sounds like a threat Steve Bannon Warns Former FBI Boss: 'You Should Be Worried' "First off, everything that's going to be done is going to be by the Constitution, under the rule of law," Bannon said. "And McCabe, you should be worried. You should be very worried. But also understand this, brother, we have extradition treaties with virtually every country in the world. And you go ahead and run and run as far as you want. We're going to come and get you." -

While I have no qualm with this myself, I would think his off-the-wall political theories would be mocked even more by appearing on a sex site. And of course there are still those who abhor such things (or so they claim) and would never admit that they visited such a disgusting website. https://www.rollingstone.com/politics/politics-news/mike-johnson-son-monitor-porn-intake-covenant-eyes-1234870634/ Or EM has had enough of the political circus and now is looking for a way for X to cover its losses. As it is there is no shortage such sites, so he is entering a competitive market.

I liken it to Al Capone's case: they couldn't tag him for all the racketeering etc, and they finally nailed him for what? In this case, I suspect it was decided to at least put felon on his resume. Any future convictions would turn him into a repeat offender. But the image initiative is underway. The Revisionist History of the Trump Trial Has Already Begun We can take bets as to when it finally seeps in to the official record.

Damned right! The plant is just sitting there, basking in the sun, then the barbarian vegetarians come along and devour it. Shame!

Yes, Trump is a convicted felon, that is why people are saying Trump is a convicted felon, because Trump is a convicted felon. We are reminded of the power of repeating the same thing over and over by none other than that convicted felon Donald Trump. The convicted felon has probably repeated the terms hoax, witch hunt, and fake news in the past nine years more times than he's sat on his golden toilet seat. It has his followers frothing at the mouth whenever the convicted felon repeats it. Accept it.
