  1. Rather like Thai sparkies then 😞 At least the "bang" test is immediate, a drip from a pipe can take ages to become apparent.
  2. We're running on an Orange Pi 3 LTS, no need for a screen (never even connected one for setup), the web interface is pretty good. Main dashboard (running off-grid hence the grid voltage of 6.5V): - Click on the "Inverter" icon and you get this: -
  3. Yeah, I disconnected from the web and Solarman/Deyecloud after Deye deliberately bricked a bunch of inverters in the US. I'm not paranoid, they really are out to get me Solar Assistant runs on a Raspberry-Pi and is quite happy to not be connected to the web.
  4. I wonder if <20W is at the limit of the system measurement. If it's all working ok I wouldn't worry. Solar Assistant doesn't have flashy animations 🙂
  5. Do you mean the flow animation stops? It's not something I've noticed, but our load almost never gets that low and I rarely look at the displays anyway.
  6. I just completed this quiz. My Score 50/100 My Time 91 seconds
  7. Apparently this is Phase 1, a 300 MWh capacity configured all in one building (two stories of batteries). A Fluence/LG design. IMHO Not the wisest of designs compared to tesla megapacks where a single container can burn outdoors without destroying entire battery array due to spread.
  8. A major fire broke out at Moss Landing, Vistra Energy's massive battery storage facility, which is said to be the largest in the world. Huge flames and thick plumes of hazardous black smoke reportedly poured from the plant, prompting evacuations in the surrounding area. The blaze was first reported around 3 p.m. local time at the site, located just off Highway 1 along California's Central Coast. Monterey County officials swiftly issued evacuation orders as the inferno raged unchecked into the evening hours. Nearby residents were also advised to shelter in place and seal windows and doors to avoid exposure to potentially toxic fumes, according to Mercury News. 9. I just completed this quiz. My Score 60/100 My Time 117 seconds
  10. A fairly recent thread on the subject:-
  11. Yeah ^^^, the pink ID is a must now, our local SS office also required a bank account that was registered using the pink ID number in order for me to pay by direct debit. The ladies at our SS office were incredibly helpful although I did have the assistance of a Thai speaker. I also got a refund of the $$$ paid in over the years as I couldn't get the Thai pension payment, 200k THB was a welcome bonus.
  12. Yeah, a bit marginal for a 15/45, although diversity would play a big part in reducing the actual loading. It would of course be much better than your current 5/15.
  13. Ah, understood, a 5/15 is probably going to be a bit unhappy if you have lots of energy-sucking electric cooking devices. Try asking if they could give you a 15/45 in the meantime, otherwise let sleeping dogs lie. Did you or your sparks do a prospective load estimate? You may actually be ok on the smaller (15/45) meter.
  14. Is your current meter a 5/15 or a 15/45? I assume you are asking for a 30/100 which PEA may be reluctant to provide if you're outside the major conurbations. What is your reason for requesting an upgrade? What's your estimated maximum load? Most of us are happily running on 15/45 meters with 63A main breakers. Meters are actually incredibly robust; a 100% overload (so 100A on a 15/45) won't kill it (but may cause inaccurate readings). I'm aware of places on 5/15 meters with a regular "farang" home on the other end (with a 63A breaker) meter is just fine. PEA are generally upgrading everyone to electronic meters so they may well not have any 30/100 conventional meters and the electronic ones, which are "universal" are in short supply. Generally, I would do nothing. You have informed PEA just leave it be. Note, if you are having supply issues (brown outs, low voltage etc.) changing the meter is unlikely to help.
  15. A woman brings eight-year-old Johnny home and tells his mother that he was caught playing doctors and nurses with Mary, her eight-year-old daughter. Johnny's mother says, "Let's not be too harsh on them.... they are bound to be curious about sex at that age." "Curious about sex?" replies Mary's mother. "He's taken her appendix out!" - Jimmy Carr
