Yeah, that was my thought too. In 2011 we had about 30cm of water in the house, sadly we were too far along with construction to raise our floor levels by much. In 2022 the water just crept into the lowest parts of downstairs. EDIT Madam indicates the water level post the 2011 flood.

We are keeping a very close eye on things; we got pretty damp in 2022. We are in the process of building permanent flood defences as part of Madam's home modification process.

Indeed, I tend to avoid video conferences too. But the presentation is so much more than just the video interaction bit. It's the whole concept of WIMP (Windows, Icons, Menus, Pointer) interface and online document sharing and editing (think Google docs).

Take the light down and try it with a plug into an outlet, verify that the light works.

The only way to tell which of the ceiling wires is "live" (it's AC, no positive and negative) is to test using a live wire tester, the simplest of which is a "neon screwdriver". Whichever turns out to be live you should connect to the brown wire in the fitting. In reality for a light, it makes no odds, either way round will work just fine.

Father - Lung cancer (many years ago), heavy smoker of "Consulate" menthol cigarettes "cool as a mountain stream!!". Mum - Still going strong at 90, still got all her marbles but now has to use a wheeled-walker. Dad (mum's "new" hubby) - 88 registered blind (glaucoma) but otherwise all there. Mum n Dad say that together they make about 80% of a complete human, dad holds mum up and she steers!

Anyone who owns a chi will understand!
