I don't understand the op nor all the replies to the topic. The op - if you're a us citizen, why pay an agent 93k for a tourist visa for your wife? Why not apply yourself? The actual cost for visa fee and getting all the required documents would have been a fraction of this amount. Another point is when COVID started and ask restrictions came about - why didn't you contact the agent and ask for a partial refund as the process couldn't proceed? Now, after 4 years you want to continue what was started back then? Doesn't make any sense IMO. As for all those who say the agent did a runner - with all the restrictions of travel during the COVID era I would assume he had no business going and probably either just closed the business and went on to do something else or maybe even went bankrupt like so many other business in those bad times. I can only speak for myself, but there are so many parameters that need to change if anyone REALLY wants to slow down the changes. The main factor is a population of 8 billion people and rising. The next factor is the consumption strategy of capitalism - buy as much as you can (and take loans if you can't afford it) so the economy can grow. Another stupid scheme was the selling of carbon rights which made some people very rich and contributed nothing to the reduction of co2. You're talking about intentions. You can apply at any Embassy you want, telling them you intend to stay there the longest. Once you're in Europe, nobody checks nor care through which Embassy you got your visa. For my last trip to Europe I planned flying and staying only in 1 country. However I realised it will be much easier and faster to apply at an embassy of another country, and that's what I've done. Upon arrival at my actual intended destination I was asked by the IO why have I applied through another country when I'm actually visiting his. The wi-fi calling aka VoIP is a service provided by the cellular company (AIS, dtak true or any overseas such company). The ability to use the service is provided by the phone you use. If you put a sim of a provider that does not support this service, your phone won't show the option of wi-fi calling. Now, as I use AIS I can only comment about their service, and it is available to use overseas. When I travel out of Thailand I take the spare phone with me, buy and install a local SIM of the country I'm at on that phone and use the local data to provide wi-fi for the phone with Thai SIMs (I have 2 Thai SIMs) and as you said, I can use my Thai numbers as if I'm in Thailand at no extra costs. However, there is a country I frequently visit and have a permanent post paid SIM of that country as I want to keep the number. On my last visit to that country I checked with the provider if they support wi-fi calling, and the answer was yes. I asked to have the service opened for my number and tested it while there - worked great. When I returned to Thailand I tried to use that phone over wi-fi and not only it didn't work, but the option on my phone wasn't showing. I put a Thai SIM on the phone and the option magically appeared again. So I called that overseas cell company's customer service and the final answer was that they block the service out of the country. I then contacted 2 other cell providers and both answered that they only provide this service IN country. I am still looking for a way to bypass this restriction but haven't found one yet. I have installed a VPN with servers in that said country but still didn't work. I contacted the VPN provider who told me that their servers do not support VoIP traffic. So if anyone has any suggestion how to solve this problem please tell.

1. Not only iPhone. Samsung has it as well and I'm pretty sure every midrange upwards Android phones have it as well. 2. This service (VoIP) must be provided by the cellular company. Although AIS (and probably other Thai companies) allows to use the service overseas, I checked with some non Thai cellular suppliers and they only give that service in-country as they prefer to sell expensive roaming packages. I have a sim from a non Thai company that gives the service in their home country as I hoped I'd be able to use it here, but it's blocked. I installed a VPN with servers in that country and still won't work as the VPN servers won't allow VoIP. Still haven't don't a way to overcome this problem...

I keep seeing that tax issue tied up with tm30 and I never understand why anyone thinks there's a connection between the 2. AFAIK you don't "take over" loan, but actually pay off the original and take a new one. Usually a loan for 2nd hand car is more expensive than for me out of the dealership. Credit history out of Thailand means nothing as they can't really verify it.

Politics is a game of compromise wherever there's more than 1 party. If any party could win enough seats to have a majority in parliament there would be no need for a coalition. But if you need other parties in a coalition, you have to accept their stance on all issues as well. So if he wants to be PM and that issue as he (and his voters) wants it stands in the way, he should find a compromise that will be a step in his direction and others can live with it as well.
