  1. Typing a phrase into the google search engine is not "research", lol.
  2. Might be able to buy a chair with that.
  3. No quarrel there. The point my agent was trying to make was that instead of some months being 67K THB and some months being 110K THB, to standardize what I transfer to give the appearance of a "regular" amount being transferred in from a pension. Hence my comment that I'll just do 65K and change for future transfers. (I surmise that in someone's train of thought - whether immigration officers or my agent - a number that is consistent over time is easier to correlate with a pension payment. Dunno.)
  4. Funny you should ask..... I visited my agent this morning after picking up my 12 monthly statements from BBL and the letter that CM Immi wants showing the FTT amounts listed by month for the last year. One of the first things the agent asked me was if my deposits were directly from a pension or if I transferred them myself (which I do.) She told me that immigration wants to see direct transfers from pensions into the accounts so - in the future - I should transfer the "same amount" (or as close as one can get with FX fluctuations) so that it looks like a steady pension income flow into my account. All of my future WISE transfers will be as close to 65K THB as one can get.
  5. Yon Wang and his cousin, Long Duc Dong.
  6. I wish.
  7. Well, that escalated quickly.....
  8. The question was "who would you most like to have sex with?" Sorry to see that your top choice, Prawit, didn't make the top ten.
  9. Not as frustrated as everyone else that you continue to post the exact same words over and over and over again.
  10. OP, I requested my 12 monthly statements via the app two days ago and.....the statements were emailed to me within five minutes. However, I'll still have to go to the bank to request the 12 months statements as immigration here in CM won't accept the self-printed statements.....plus, I need to obtain the letter to which you referred that lists the itemized deposits by month.
  11. The letter than BBL created for me last time had my name, account number, and listed the amount transferred into the account each month, identifying each month separately. I needed that letter plus the twelve months' worth of statements showing FTT transfer code (international.)
  12. Here in Chiang Mai, Immigration requires one to obtain both the statements from the bank and the letter from the bank.
  13. As you know, Thailand is already drowning in red tape.
  14. Unfortunately, much of your intended audience won't see your post. They're outside yelling, "You kids get off of my lawn!"
  15. It's unfortunate but seeing the songs posted in this thread brings back memories of the smell of my grandparents' house. Ugh.
  16. Some interesting articles pop up when you google "red rimmed t-shirts Thailand".
  17. Doubtful. US Fed rate cut was already factored into the prevailing exchange rate.
  18. "Knit picking", LMAO. Now native English speakers and "even the lowest of Thais" are looking down on you, lol.
  19. ".....even the lowest of thais still looks down on us as they say 'falang' with a smirk...."
  20. Or - and this is pure speculation - this could be the new thresholds promised when the DTV was introduced. IIRC, one of the other initiatives announced at the same time was revision of the non-O visa categories and requirements.
  21. Resurrecting an old post to say that The BrewHouse, two doors down from Viva, is also quite good. Nice pour of Guinness (290 thb/pint during Happy Hour) plus Kilkenny, Paulaner, and about 30 other beers on tap. Recommended.
  22. From Hollywood to Bollywood to Follywood.
  23. "There is speculation....." from whom, exactly? Anyone with Thai government credentials?
  24. I didn't click the link because I believe you probably did a copypasta accurately. Remembering that we're working on an English translation from an original Thai language document, it's possible there is little or no difference in the definitions you described. "A body of persons who participate in a fund that is established and operated by an investment management company" - that's certainly what a USA mutual fund is. "For a project under the law governing the control of trading activities that affect public safety and welfare" could very well mean that the fund itself has legal oversight by a regulatory body that protects the interests of the investors (i.e., the US Securities and Exchange Commission.)
