  1. just take the bill to any bank and pay with cash if you don't have a Thai bank account any good condo management shouldn't accept cash as that's rife for embezzlement
  2. it's being redeveloped into a highrise tower, so no loss there the open air tourist trap like Jodd Fair in is a much better deal with non-ripoff price that locals can enjoy too without being too unsanitary/cramped like other Thai focused night market like Those along Ram-Inthra expressways
  3. the auto gates for Thai passport seem to not work for a lot more Thai passports recently, resulting being Thais that can't go through the auto gate being directed to the adjacent fast track desk, this might be why they suspend PR that can't go through the auto gates to go to the normal queue instead of being additional work for the fast track lane
  4. tap or chip inserted into the machine? it's a known problem that Bangkok Bank's mastercard contactless for debit cards don't work unless you use the chip the cashiers probably doesn't know this and see the contactless symbol and just try to tap the card
  5. most airlines seem to base their plane out of Bangkok, so the first few legs out to the provinces, then back to dmk in the morning on 'fresh' plane is less likely to be delayed to technical issue the delays/cancellations are probably occurring more in the late afternoon
  6. something KD erawan - also known as white elephant
  7. have you seen the state for some of these local 'factories' might as well be some machine in a shed, never minding how it was transported to the restaurant/bar in fertilizer bag on the back of pickup trucks
  8. Has anyone looked into this product? seem to be an invertor meant to be plugged into existing household with a suicide plug and is meant to supplement the mains, the cells are probably too small to be used on their own or even be in a situation where it could export my gut instinct is that this sounds like a bad idea, with so many ways to trip up your existing protective devices and grounding
  9. Khao Mok Gai is based of the subcontinent/Middle eastern Biryani, The Thai version is substantially different enough to be considered their own Chicken Rice.... the only major difference from Chinese/Singaporean version is the dipping sauce so I wouldn't consider it unique Thai dish The various noodle soup variants has also diverged from Chinese origins to be considered Thai in their own rights too
  10. if you've been in one you'd have seen a sign in every room that soliciting for sex is prohibited and totally illegal and not going on here what you paid was for massage and nothing more
  11. what's his angle? he seems to fit the do-gooder attention seeker but those Thai do-gooder have something to sell, with an actual product or service they earn a commission or just plain seeking fame but unlike those upstart celebrity wanna be that helps people for limelight Chuwit is: already a household name, his business don't need any more money, not the kind that tv spotlight bring anyway plus he is semi-retired form his business anyway not sure if the multiple sentences he already served time for has any bearing on being able to run for elections, his last sentence seem to have condition that he can't hold political office for some years.. has that ran out yet?
  12. in case of withheld tax, it'd have to be done and sent to the revenue department within 7 days after the month that you'd been paid, you'll be given a document stating the withheld tax while the withholding tax is usually 3% and seem to require a tax or citizen ID no., as that's what resident and those with work permit pays, it's actually also possible for non resident( the revenue department classify this as foreigner staying within the Kingdom for less than 180days) but the withholding rate for non-resident is actually 15%

    spanner size?

22-25 but usually use vice grip as most socket set only goes to 19
  14. the present arrangement is probably not 'above board' and mentioning that you are going to have a lawyer looked at it could draw unwanted attention to their scheme, especially if you have immigration officer not in their control examine your passport
  15. some checkpoints do have legit payment desk where they issue you a proper receipt
  16. could be the dealer has already put up some 'mark up' to something stupid like 200,000+ with their special model already loaded with farkles and it just sits there for naïve buyer who couldn't stand to wait, you want it home today? for cash pay 80,000 extras and it's yours
  17. cars got away with it, 2.0 litre was 1997-1998cc since forever, and don't even start on German car numbering scheme, 200, 350, could be anything these days with them claiming turbo performance equivalent or other bs
  18. pet? gas stove? that should be on the condo bylaws already probably airbnbs
  19. I've looked into that kit, I don't think it's available in Thailand wiring loom and such parts number are available on WeBike from Europe, works out around 30,000 baht... it'd be expensive junk if I were to order the kit only for it to be incompatible with the Thai ECU/key unit
  20. you can report them to Honda if they did that, they will take his bike in for service, but for things like warranty work with claims on parts... they could drag their heels as it's not 'sold by them' I feel Yamaha is stricter on their dealer in this regard
  21. they are quite in demand, so expect a long wait, and especially if you're buying cash, as most of us will be, the shop wouldn't give you the time of day due to the fact that they can milk the finance out of Thai people better, some might even put up the price over the MSRP for cash buyer even. there are some online seller who don't mind cash and will deliver for a fee, see if the delivery fee to your area will be less than what the local dealer are charging over the MSRP
  22. for third world markets, manufacturer seem to have given up on expensive cartridge, most decent inkjet printer from big brands come with ink tank from the factory where you can refill yourself and even the official ink in bottles that you squeeze into the tank are reasonable I think models with ink tank are around 3000 baht, how cheap the initial price for the cartridge model would have to be for it to make sense with razor handle+blades model? 1,999? but with each refill costing 5-600, 2 each for color and black, that's almost the cost of the printer! sure, they fill the cartridge that came with the printer a little low to prevent people from using the printer once and buying new ink tank printer in the west so far seem to be only available for 'commercial' models of around $200 and up for now
  23. contact the admin of this thai donor group via facebook at https://th-th.facebook.com/THBloodDonors/ or if you have the line app https://line.me/R/ti/p/%40xsz2576t and they'll make a post with the relevant detail asking for donor
  24. normally I'd point you to Thai rare blood group where regular donor of Rh- blood are, but the donor could be Thai
  25. the book doesn't move or change address, it's supposed to belong to the house, people move between books you don't need to move to your 'new' current address if you still have access to the 'old' one unless it's beneficial to do so like property tax technically the housemaster is supposed to notify of any change when people move or be fined, but how're they gonna check? when selling the house you're supposed to give the new owner the housebook so they can move in if they choose to do so.... but if there's a yellow book thais rarely know about I supposed you could hold on to it and it's valid until the new houseowner become aware and kicked you off his book, but I don't imagine it a straightforward process trying to get a foreigner name removed from yellow book without knowing where they moved to.
