After moving into my new home for about 3 months I had one fry a compressor unit outside. To my surprise the warranty covered the repair (Carrier brand). The mechanic said I should spray Baygon Lavender in the opening where the lines go into the unit about once a week. I guess they don't like the lavender smell.
I can sometimes catch them with my hands and take them outside. Also I have a dustpan that the broom sits inside of and can brush them into it and cover it with the broom and take them out.
Those sticky fly traps will also catch them.
