  1. That message has to do with a Thai bank possibly being required to report interest paid to you back to your home country. Years ago I opened an account with KTB. Instead of doing the required FACTA paperwork for the USA they just decided to not pay me any interest.
  2. Not the brightest thing to do.
  3. He's talking about which forum section the post is in. Which is the Chiang Mai sub forum. It would have been better if the poster had put it in the medical forum and mentioned in the message he was in Chiang Mai.
  4. Was drunk, fell asleep and then when he woke up the brakes failed. Did I cover everythng?
  5. We won't even care about this when the virus comes that starts turning us into zombies.
  6. Every business has someone in charge.
  7. My wifes family and relatives often leave food out overnight. I think the chance is there for bacteria to grow but doesn't necessarily mean it will. Leaving cooked chicken out is probably safer than leaving raw chicken out and then cooking it. Look at the fresh markets where the meat is just left out in the heat. They don't seem to have too much problems from that either. I know I was raised being told don't give dogs bones it will kill them. When I first retired here I would tell people they were going to kill their dogs giving them bones. They would just give me funny looks. After a short period I realised there are millions of dogs eating bones, of every type, everyday here and they aren't all dying. So while there may be a chance of a bone hurting a dog it doesn't happen that often. Same with leaving food out.
  8. Thai soup tastes better than Vietnamese soup...
  9. I hate when they fight over the shrimp and fish heads...
  10. It's more like they think it is cursed by bad spirits. At least that is what my relatives say. They go out of their way to avoid it.
  11. You can open a joint account. That's what the wife and I use.
  12. He didn't pay electric bill for 3 months and service was disconnected but somehow left the air conditioners running?
  13. Some of my family that live in Bangkok go out of the way to avoid that road. They think it is cursed. They need to hold people accountable for this. Not the workers the higher ups. Too many protected families here.

I'll let you know what I think about it later.
  15. We live in the age of easily offended people...

there are no official laws for tipping. some places, specially in malls, add a 10% service charge.
  17. The purpose of life is to create more life.
  18. Arcoxia works well for this type of pain. But I would be careful using it. It was a reformulation of Vioxx, which was taken off the market due to increased risk of heart attack. I noticed when I used Arcoxia my pulse was significantly higher. I was prescribed Vioxx for the same condition. A few weeks after I started using it they removed it from the market in the US. Arcoxia was never approved there either. When my wife found out it was taken off the market she threw away my remaining pills. I was kind of upset. I didn't want to stop using it worked so well.
  19. It would be easy enough to see if it was his body or not.
  20. A few decades ago you would see men walking with arms around each other. Same with women. But it was very rare to see a man and woman touching while walking. It had nothing to do with sexuality. But that has changed in recent times. Much more common now to see couples walking around holding each other than to see a group of friends walking around embraced.
  21. There are only certain exchanges approved in Thailand. Are you using one that is not approved by the Thai government?
  22. I'm assuming they were not ladyboys otherwise his outcome might have been quite worse.
  23. Thai's tell jokes. I usually don't see the humor in them though. Must be cultural differences. Thai TV humor is still in the 3 Stooges/Benny Hill stage, but not as good.
