  1. If you are just using it for drinking water you don't need to put a pump under the sink. A lot of the units come with their own little faucet which you can put through your sink if it has an extra whole in it. Like the one Crossy put a picture of.
  2. One bad thing about RO systems is that they waste a lot of water. Most of the water doesn't pass through the membrane is sent down your drain.
  3. One thing that has been happening to me recently is companies shipping from China sending a really cheap item and not what you ordered. One example is I ordered a water filter item for 12K baht and they sent a tube of some sort of skin cream. Lazada is good about returns on them but they should be blocking these sellers on their site. It's happened about 5 times to me lately. And yes it seems that the sellers have learned that as soon as they say it is packed you can't cancel the item and have to wait for the deliver by date to pass.
  4. If there was a god he went insane listening to all the people asking for bingo numbers to come up.
  5. Why highlight only a few of the fatal accidents? You could fill an entire newspaper or news broadcast with just accidents everyday.
  6. Technically you need a license to import medication into Thailand. If the package is small and the value not over 1,500 baht it would probably slip through. I have got vitamins this way, they also fall into the drug category here.
  7. I see gold shops selling 18K gold jewelry. They call it Italian gold. I have no idea whether they will buy it back or not.
  8. They have 3 color necklaces for sale.
  9. You have got to be kidding. Lost a lot of respect for him.
  10. There are a few reasons people keep red plates on their vehicles for a lengthy time. You don't pay the vehicle reqistration fee until you get your actual license plate. You can avoid getting tickets mailed to you from on road cameras. Some people request specific numbers for their plate. It can take up to a couple of years for that number to come up sometimes if you are very specific about the first number on the plate. (this can only be done for krueng Thep plates but you can get them even if you live in another jungwat.) Status symbol. Also when you have red plates you are also given a book with it. If you are traveling through different jungwats you are supposed to fill it out before hand with your travel details.
  11. It's a good snake to have hanging around. I've seen some pretty large ones where I live. My next door neighbor had one in his yard and called Rescue to come and get it. When the rescue people were catching it the snake hissed at them a little. They started saying it must be mixed with cobra. DOH!!!
  12. henna tatoo on his hand: 1 Turn pump on 2 water plants 3 turn pump off
  13. It wouldn't surprise me if they are sifting through ashes pretty soon.
  14. You don't need to be in yellow book or have pink ID. I have never had them. You can get a residence certificate from immigration for free. Or get an address statement from your embassy for money. Any hospital and some clinics will do the medical certificate for you. If you have a valid license from another country you will just have to watch a video, lasted about 45 minutes. And do some vision and reaction tests.
  15. The linked article says "Police examined surveillance camera clips but did not find anything suspicious. The deceased man had walked back to his room at 3 p.m. and stayed there until his friend found his dead body in this room he had rented on Jan. 17."
  16. I see lots of women in Thailand with tatoos. Specially the religious ones that are supposed to protect you.
  17. At least they figured out what direction the truck was going.
  18. I opened my SCB account about 10 years ago. At first they wanted to see a work permit to open one. I explained that I was on a retirement visa and was not allowed to work but also needed a Thai bank account to stay here. They had to call the main office and then opened my account. There was some extra paperwork because of being an American citizen. A couple of years after that I went to KTB to open an account. They opened one very quickly and had very little paperwork to do. But I was told because I was from USA they would not pay me interest. They didn't want to deal with the extra reporting requirements the US imposes on them.
  19. Discuss and make proclamations while nothing changes.
  20. There are lots of people in other countries that have the same problem.
  21. You can either start a new Non-O from scratch in the US or come back visa exempt and then apply for a non-O extension in Thailand. There is lots of info on doing that if you search the forum here.
  22. They were probably screaming because they saw they were going to run into a tree...
