  1. There are sex workers in every Thai town/city! What do you think all those karaoke bars with 'twinkling' lights are about?
  2. Brothels are illegal but not prostitution. Get your facts right!
  3. Unfortunately because my employer is based in Bangkok, we have to process our annual extensions there. A year ago there was a scare when it was thought the school's online teachers were not going to get their extensions any more as "Covid is over and there's no longer a requirement for online teaching"! Only those with a Bangkok TM30 would get one! Fortunately it proved to just be a scare, although I think 'technically' I am commuting from Rayong to Bangkok for work!
  4. The Left is understandably shocked and worried. But I haven't seen them trying to storm Congress, and hang the VP in order to get the results overturned like the Right did in 2001!
  5. Well said. They have obviously never lived or worked with Muslims in the south of Thailand, in Malaysia or Indonesia, or any other non-extremist Muslim country! I wonder if they know who Mo Salah is?!
  6. Can't wait. The first two seasons were great.
  7. Elon Musk is, no doubt, genius. But Tucker Carlson ? 🤣
  8. Rupert Murdoch, Robert Herring Jr and Chris Ruddy are lefties? Who knew!
  9. Not surprising really. Other than in the US (shockingly!), most people are Trump haters.
  10. I doubt it, but out of the 2 billion in the world, including many here in Thailand and millions in Malaysia and Indonesia, I would think most would criticise this change to the law in Iraq.
  11. I need to get some paper cards laminated. Is there somewhere in Central Festival that can do this? If not, can anyone recommend a place close by? Thanks
  12. No, any rational person, including 99% of muslims, would criticise this.
  13. You'd be surprised at what some people believe.
  14. Wish I could use Section E! Section N is always rammed, as it's for Teachers...
  15. Why do people still trot out this ridiculous cliched myth? 🙄
  16. They could hardly be expected to uproot and leave within a few days! Give them time.
  17. No, although like Travis Bickle, I think he's mentally disturbed and should have been locked up.
  18. Thanks, and to the others who have posted. I will do this and just accept that it may take all day to get everything done!
  19. If (when) we rejoin, it seems that adopting the Euro will be a condition. Might take a while for people to get used to, but inevitable in the long-run.
  20. Unfortunately he's too spineless to do that.
  21. Anyone who raved through the 1990s/2000s will tell you what an amazing experience it is. Just fantastic.
  22. Not a fan of First-past-the-post? Most Tories were happy when it suited them! With a fairer electoral system we might have been saved from decades of Tory misrule.
  23. As the appointment system for Work Extensions has broken down (it's permanently fully booked) and I need 3 consecutive appointments anyway, we will have to take our chances and just turn up on the day. What is the recommended time to get to Immigration for the queue ticket (section N). I've read reports of people getting there before it opens (5am?) but does that involve sitting outside for 3 hours? Not something I would want to do with my family in-tow. If we get there just before it opens, presumably there is a line before you can get into the office? How quickly does it go before you get a queue ticket? Does arriving a bit later (9am) mean avoiding the lines but getting a queue ticket that means you are unlikely to be seen until much later in the day, most likely after lunch? Does a queue ticket guarantee that you will be processed that day/ Dreading it.
