  1. Absolutely!
  2. Similar to franchisee pubs in England, you are tied to buy the alcohol/products from owner at an inflated price.
  3. Take a lot of customers to warrant that price albeit it is usually busy, the last time I was in there one of the ladies approached me, quite a stunner really and said my p**** is open 24 hours a day, straight forward and to the point, I didn’t take her up on it though.
  4. Why are they with them then ?
  5. They are are not bothered not many Thais are as judgmental as you plus it’s putting food in their stomachs.
  6. Water throwing allowed only from Second Road Sois to Beach Road, keep Soi Bukhao water free then again who is going to Police it ?
  7. You are being very judgmental, it’s probably all these people can afford, criticising people you don’t even know, just because they dress down doesn’t make them lower class or bad people, what’s do you regard yourself as ?
  8. People going home but also eating places and carts get no business for a week as customers don’t want to be drenched and the people with carts don’t want their food ruined with water.
  9. On my walk abouts on afternoon in the last few weeks down Soi 7 & 8 the bars are empty some closed, is this their way of trying attract customers ?
  10. Remote control, push button start, all electronic.
  11. I would like to know when Songkran developed into a water throwing event with water pistols etc instead of the cleansing of hands ?
  12. Not the same experience, the seller only had 1 key, he said he had lost the other one, nothing to stop him coming back later and using his ‘lost’ key, I said no thank you to the deal.
  13. Thanks for the info, I will avoid Soi 7 then.
  14. Officially but water throwing will be going on prior to those dates whereas in most places it only lasts for 2/3 days.
  15. When the customers are stood outside throwing water the bar is not selling beer and wracking up a huge water bill.
  16. Same here, first time 10 years ago, 2 hours was enough never crossed the door since for Songkran, let the Thais enjoy it. Strange you see older foreigners getting involved but never the older Thai people ?
  17. Thought there was a water shortage, a week of throwing water about in Pattaya will soon deplete the supply.
  18. I was stuck in the U.K. for 15 months during covid, I assumed there was only a few baht in the account, I didn’t have a Debit Card for the account at the time. I tried to transfer money to the account but it had been frozen, I went to the branch and unfroze it and found out I had ฿5000 in the account !
  19. It gets passed on to the government.
  20. No point withdrawing from an atm from a foreign account you get charged 220 baht per withdrawal.
  21. Will the banks be required to notify the tax authorities if you receive money in your account from overseas ? if you use the monthly income for your extension will you have to increase this to allow for tax deductions ?
  22. Krungsri froze my account after I was stuck in the U.K. for 15 months, after 2 years they said they would closed it if there was no activity on the account.
  23. Emirates check in at BKK are very lackadaisical judging by size of some of the carry on luggage. At Newcastle your carry on bag is weighed and tagged at check in, it’s checked again tag only when go through the boarding gate.
  24. I think coming soon meals will be optional on long haul flights, if you want one you will have to pay for it.
  25. You will, have flown from Newcastle KLM and BA, Amsterdam, Heathrow and you are allowed the check in baggage for the flight to Bangkok.
