Tragic Red Light Collision in Ratchaburi Claims One Life
Jumbo1968 replied to webfact's topic in Central Thailand News
Wikipedia, Wrong. In the UK, normal traffic lights follow this sequence: Red – Stop, do not proceed. Red and Amber – Get ready to proceed, but do not proceed yet. Green – Proceed if the intersection or crossing is clear; vehicles are not allowed to block the intersection or crossing. Highway Code, Green: You can go if it is safe to do so. Give way to any pedestrians who are crossing. Amber: Stop. If you have already crossed the stop line when the amber light appears or are positioned close to the stop line where stopping may be dangerous, you should proceed. -
Thailand’s proposed land bridge project could boost various sectors

I think the main reason they don’t want a canal is because it would be a physical barrier dividing Thailand and i believe some Southern Muslim provinces want independence. -

Not sure what the rules are elsewhere but the green light in the U.K. means go if the way ahead is clear not carte blanche to proceed just because it’s a green light. -

Effective training is a waste of time, the majority wouldn’t listen, effective policing, I regularly see people run red lights, the policeman in the box never bothers. CCTV at every traffic light to catch the offenders that is if their vehicle is registered. -
Thailand’s proposed land bridge project could boost various sectors

So they are going to unload containers at one end reload to a different vessel at the other end for its onward journey, surely a canal is the better option ? -
YouTuber did this one, looks ok,

I agree but why do they keep moving the goalpost, we all thought we were moving forward when they ditched the TM6, 2 steps forward 1 back now, It’s not as if the TM 30 generates any cash only from owners who don’t comply with it. I asked my owner for the receipt, it was obvious he hadn’t done one and he said cost him ฿500 via a ‘friend’ for a receipt.

Colonoscopy Tests Costs In Thailand
Jumbo1968 replied to Mitkof Island's topic in Health and Medicine
Looks like they knock you out in Thailand which would add to the cost, in the U.K. you get the choice, I decided on staying awake and used gas and air once when it was uncomfortable. I watched the whole process on the TV screen above the bed. -
Pattaya Police Conduct Active Shooter Drill at Central Pattaya Mall
Jumbo1968 replied to webfact's topic in Pattaya News
At Central Festival in Pattaya you enter by the main doors from Second Road and pass through a scanner which is unmanned. You can walk into the Beauty shop no scanner from 2nd Road pass through it straight into the Mall avoiding the scanner, farce comes to mind. -

Get your facts right Chang is wife neater, great news you won’t be hanging about vetting people as they go into Cheap Charlie’s, we can relax now and carry on wearing our drab clothing
-
Maybe the clientele can only afford the cheap drab clothing and shower shoes, not everyone is a millionaire. You must walk about blindfolded in Pattaya the attire you describe is what the majority of what foreigners wear more so the shower shoes. Do you walk about with a 3 piece suit, be interesting to know your dress attire ?
-
Yes more so you don’t know the clientele personally who eat in Cheap Charlie’s and you probably have never set foot in the place, do you stand outside scanning the clientele as they come and go ?
-
You don’t pay for the ambience, that’s why the prices are reasonable, I have had Guinness in there and I can’t see why you make such a rude comment about the clientele, do you know any of them personally, you are very judgemental and snobbish.
-
They would be afraid of getting ‘nuked’ TBH the security would be unreal as they are loads of Russians and Ukrainians here who wouldn’t mind a pop at Putin that is if the real Putin turned up not one of his stunt doubles.
-
Yes but they are being paid not too.

I think some of it makes a lot of sense, Switzerland always remains neutral as did Sweden in ww2.

I have witnessed many ignorant foreigners at the check outs in the supermarkets, one refused to move his trolley, I asked him to as did the check out girl, he just shook his head and walked away with his shopping leaving the trolley blocking the exit, another left his empty basket on the conveyor saying it was not his job to move it when asked to do so. These are just a couple of incidents, no wonder some Thais are sourpusses towards foreigners who tend to look down on Thais as if they are lower class.
