Slightly off topic but I have this Oz friend and he became fluent in Thai. I realize that word fluent is thrown around however the point is his Thai is excellent. He opted for one on one with a Thai teacher. Given OP is only looking at 3 month stay and mentioned you can do that with SETV and one extension. Clearly would require discipline to be useful.

OP, be aware that if you apply for extension which will be denied and given the 7 day notice to exit Thailand. I'm thinking that the 7 days starts from date you attend immigration and not expiry of current permit..

You could consider tourist visa + extension. Does not exclude studying at a school or otherwise. Most folk that obtain non ED are looking for longer stay than 3 months.

Good that your plan worked out suiting your needs. Just to be clear.... You didn't have a tourist visa. The agent obtained a non O which gives a 90 day stamp and subsequent extension of 12 months. Having the funds in the bank you did have the option of doing this process yourself. For non O retirement and extension it's a simple process. Doing it yourself would have been 2000+1900 baht so reasonable deal from agent to have them do the leg work.

Good plan. Substantial time out of Thailand would be useful. Almost open the window for visa exempt entries via land for next calendar year. If 6 months out of Thailand perhaps even flight in visa exempt. For me it would be Vietnam over Cambodia but that's down to personal choice.

Think this is better option and obtain bank statement. BTW: It's not VOA you have a visa exempt stamp valid for 30 days. You can apply for extension couple of weeks prior to permit expiry.

You have not stated time spent out of Thailand. Obviously covid from March 2020 sort of does not count. So in last 12 months what is your history staying in Thailand.

New pp means nothing.. You ask about flying visa exempt via air. Good luck with that. You stated continuous stay in Thailand since 2019. Granted we had covid based extensions etc. Be straight up. Why continuous stay required. Why not spend time in another country. If I was io I would suspect you are working in Thailand and refuse entry at at airport on arrival. 3 years come on. Clearly you are under 50 ? And cannot obtain non O based on retirement

While some immigration offices don't check this, I think it's best option to wait for final stamp.

IF lucky enough to be granted a tourist visa then you might have chance to enter Thailand. Flying back visa exempt to Thailand I hoping you try. We haven't had recent reports of refused entry and fly back to point of departure. Been in Thailand since 2019. Well done. Heading for big fall. Spend time out of Thailand. Vietnam would be one suggestion

For vast majority of passports you can only stay in Thailand for limited time using visa exempt and tourist visas

I'm done. You do not understand how TM30 works and what immigration require. I was just about to edit my previous post with links to threads that would explain it for you. Forget that plan. There are many immigration offices that do a doc check. You may not even get to second base without TM30 screenshot from condo for 30 day extension. BTW: Condo vs Hotel irrelevant. Both need to file a TM30

No. It definitely is most. I pointed out CM being a rogue office on this matter. Sad because lot of expats live there. In threads similar to this one I have read few posts from folk in other provinces that where their immigration office is also not up to date. I deal with CW. They follow the law. Which office do you deal with.

Strange post. First para implying that it's possible to obtain extension from visa exempt entry without TM30. Then second para stating that io rings hotel to provide TM30. Of course sometimes the io will skip the TM30 requirement for various services such as 30 day extensions. Sure onward flights MAY NOT be required. That chit chat topic has been done to death.

OP, completely covered by post above. Be aware (if you deal with Jomtien) that office (according to recent thread) .....requires the 800k seasoned for two months to apply for the non O. Ridiculous. The rule is funds in the bank on day of application. Assume that you are not married. If you are you could change extension to based on marriage and no insurance requirements

Do your 90 day report when you next have dealings with immigration. Seems that will be next extension. Most likely fined 2000b

Yes you need to have TM30 to obtain 30 day extension. Yes you can check into a hotel and have them provide you with screenshot of filing.. Immigration might fine or send you away without a TM30 Best to provide one. Note: you can make appointment at IT mall.
